The Paralegal provides contract, legal, and administrative support to MEDIKO’s leadership and business functions, with a primary focus on the review, administration, and ongoing management of client contracts. This position reviews contracts, amendments, renewals, and related documents; identifies key requirements, obligations, deadlines, and potential areas of concern; and coordinates with internal stakeholders and outside legal counsel as appropriate. 

The Paralegal serves as a centralized resource for contract documentation and legal coordination, helping ensure MEDIKO understands and effectively manages its contractual commitments across a growing, multi-state organization. This position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.

How YOU can Make an Impact:

  • Reviews client contracts, amendments, renewals, extensions, and other agreements to identify key business terms, obligations, deadlines, deliverables, and areas requiring additional review or clarification. 

  • Summarizes contract terms and requirements for leadership and other internal stakeholders to support informed decision-making and contract administration. 

  • Coordinates the internal contract review process, including obtaining input from Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Clinical, Information Technology, and other departments as appropriate. 

  • Identifies contractual provisions or potential concerns requiring escalation to leadership or outside legal counsel. 

  • Maintains organized and complete records of executed client contracts, amendments, renewals, notices, and related correspondence. 

  • Develops and maintains contract tracking systems to monitor expiration dates, renewal periods, notice requirements, reporting obligations, insurance requirements, and other significant contractual commitments. 

  • Supports new client implementations and contract transitions by identifying contractual requirements and communicating relevant obligations to responsible departments. 

  • Assists with the review and preparation of routine agreements, amendments, notices, correspondence, and other contract-related documents. 

  • Coordinates contract execution, including internal approvals, signatures, distribution, and maintenance of final executed documents. 

  • Assists with responses to client requests involving contract interpretation, documentation, or contractual requirements, escalating legal questions as appropriate. 

  • Serves as a point of coordination between MEDIKO and outside legal counsel, including gathering documentation, communicating background information, tracking requests, and facilitating timely responses. 

  • Conducts legal, regulatory, contractual, and factual research as requested and prepares summaries for leadership review. 

  • Assists with litigation, claims, subpoenas, records requests, administrative matters, and other legal issues by gathering, organizing, and maintaining relevant documentation. 

  • Supports corporate filings, registrations, licenses, records, and other organizational documentation as assigned. 

  • Maintains appropriate confidentiality of contracts, legal matters, business information, and other sensitive or privileged information. 

  • Proactively monitors assigned deadlines and follows up with responsible parties to ensure required actions are completed. 

  • Assists with the development and improvement of contract review, tracking, documentation, and record-retention processes. 

  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. 

What we Ask of YOU:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human Resources, Finance, Sales, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related discipline) from an accredited institution preferred. 

  • Additional certifications or specialized training may be required depending on the function (e.g., Certified Human Resources Professional (PHR) for HR roles, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for Finance roles, Paralegal Certificate for legal roles, etc.). 

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in the specific functional area (e.g., HR, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, etc.). 

  • Experience in healthcare, correctional healthcare, or a regulated industry is preferred. 

  • Demonstrated success in applying function-specific skills (e.g., employee relations for HR, financial reporting for Finance, contract review for legal, or sales strategy for Sales) is required. 

  • Knowledge of relevant industry-specific regulations, compliance standards, and best practices may be required, particularly for roles in highly regulated functions like HR and Finance. 

  • Relevant industry certifications based on the role (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, CPA, etc.). 

  • Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved), if role is located in a correctional facility.
