Key Responsibilities
- To provide support to partners and associates across a broad range of financial services work.
- Reviewing and summarising legal documents.
- Performing legal research and analysis.
- Printing and collation of legal documents.
- Checking legal forms/documents for accuracy.
- Assisting in the preparation of reports and correspondence.
- Assisting in drafting a range of legal documents.
- Carrying out searches in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Maintaining system based filing systems, assisting in file openings and CDD requirements.
- Attend client meetings/calls with partners/associates to take accurate notes and circulate action points promptly.
- Support the team’s marketing and business development plans, including arranging events and off-island trips, managing travel and accommodation logistics, and ensuring events/presentations run smoothly.
- Working flexibly as a team member with the department to ensure there is support cover throughout the working week to meet the client needs.
- Providing administration and support to fee earners as required.
- Adhering to all policies, procedures and regulations as required.
- Taking responsibility for a wide range of tasks/projects as required by the lawyers/partners in the group.
Qualifications
- High school or degree level educated
- Preferably having or working towards a legal or administrative qualification but not essential.
Knowledge/skills/experience
- Some previous experience in a legal environment, ideally in a similar role
- Strong IT skills and confidence working across matter management/document systems (document management experience is useful)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness and ability to learn about Jersey law
