GEICO is seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Paralegal in the Legal Department primarily to support the legal teams providing advice related to GEICO’s insurance products and distribution. This position provides a broad range of paralegal support and requires excellent communication and task management skills, as well as interacting confidentially with all levels of leadership. There is also an expectation of strong technical skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The selected candidate thrives in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Create and execute research plans for various questions related to the regulation of insurance products
· Collaborate, consult, and provide information with Legal Department attorneys and outside counsel, and collaborate with line of business
· Research and resolve issues and matters which may involve substantial legal or factual complexity, through detailed research and examination of documentation and factual investigation
· Evaluate risk/merits of complaints and advise with in-depth communication to supervising attorneys
· Conduct or update 50-state surveys on various insurance-law topics
· Draft summaries or reports to explain research findings to Legal Department management and business partners
· Participate in insurance-related work teams and activities within the Legal Department
· Handle paralegal assignments related to other areas of the law
Basic Qualifications:
· A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a paralegal – REQUIRED
· A minimum of 1 year as an insurance law paralegal – REQUIRED
· Must be able to multi-task.
· Must be able to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information.
· Must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Location: Hybrid – This position requires the individual to work onsite, 3 days per week out of the Chevy Chase, MD office.

Annual Salary
$90,000.00 - $182,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
