Job DescriptionApplies or repairs horse shoes during racing meets.
• Reports to paddock judge to inspect proper shoe requirements (toe grabs) for all horses each race night.
• Is qualified to shoe or adjust horse racing plates on race horses each race night if required.
• May be required to repair or fix shoes for horses on backside prior to horses arrival in paddock.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be experienced in the replacement or repairing of horseshoes.
• Must be able to stand, bend and stoop.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses as required by local gaming/racing authorities.
