The Application Engineer is responsible for enabling packing method design to meet Functional Requirement Specifications (FRS) and manufacturing excellence of Nexperia product development projects, assure post assembled product quality at storage and transportation environment, ultimately customer ease of handling product packing method that is in accordance with EIA or/and IEC Standards.
This is a 1-year contract position.
What You Will Do
Develop packing method in terms of carrier tape, cover tape, PQ/SPQ label, inner box..MBB etc being optimal design at aspects of Nexperia design requirements, EIA/IEC Standard, supplier capabilities and customer application in a timely manner.
Identify technical risks and provide mitigation proposals at the appropriate stage using proper design tools such as Design FMEA and Fitting Simulation Analysis.
Drive sound and effective control methodology of product packing process.
Own material design change control of carrier tape, cover tape, PQ/SPQ label, inner box...MBB etc.
Ensure packing material is effectively implemented throughout the entire development life cycle.
Work with supplier quality and procurement to assess technology capabilities of suppliers.
Perform expert/consultant and support engineering team to assess and validate continue improvement opportunities of customer’s change request/compliant.
What You Will Need
Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Master’s degree or higher is preferred.
Knowledge of IC/discrete package design.
Experience with design tools such as Simulation, Design FMEA, and CAD.
Experience in solder footprint design is preferred.
Creative mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
Strong customer focus, proactive attitude, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Experience in handling customers is an advantage.
Good interpersonal and presentation skills in cross-site and cross-functional environments.
Good command of written and spoken English. Proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.
Willingness to travel occasionally.
