Role Purpose:
As a Techlines Underwriting Assistant, you will be responsible for assessing and evaluating risks associated with CAR/EAR insurance for Construction and Property insurance for Power Projects. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining relationships with brokers and cedents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in underwriting CAR/EAR insurance for Construction and Property insurance for Power Projects
- Review and analyze submissions from brokers and clients to assess risk factors and determine appropriate coverage.
- Assist in pricing policies by evaluating exposure, loss history, and other relevant factors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth underwriting process.
- Prepare and present underwriting referrals and recommendations to higher authority holder and/or regional offices
- Maintain accurate and organized underwriting records and documentation.
Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience within the insurance industry
- Previous experience in underwriting for construction, erection and property all risks insurance products is preferred.
Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Insurance or a related field. Additional certifications in underwriting or insurance (e.g., CII, CPCU, Anziif or equivalent) are preferred.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with insurance policies and coverage terms, especially CAR/EAR & Property Insurance, is a plus.

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyze financial statements and evaluate risk.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate complex information.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Good written and spoken English is a must.
