The Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic People & Culture Business Partner to help shape the culture, capability and organisational effectiveness of Cochlear's global business functions. Working across multiple regions and business units, you will partner with senior leaders to drive enterprise-wide people initiatives, organisational transformation and capability-building programs that support long-term business growth.

Reporting to the Vice President, Business Partnering, you will partner with senior leaders across multiple global business functions to build organisational capability, strengthen leadership effectiveness and deliver strategic people initiatives that support long-term business success.

You will operate as a trusted advisor, consultant and transformation partner—working across global business units, multiple geographies and enterprise-wide programs to help leaders navigate change, build capability and achieve business outcomes.

You will collaborate closely with leaders, Centres of Expertise and People & Culture colleagues across the organisation to drive initiatives that enhance performance, improve organisational effectiveness and support Cochlear's continued growth.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Drive Organisational Capability and Transformation

  • Lead and deliver strategic people initiatives and transformation programs across multiple regions and business functions.

  • Partner with leaders to identify capability gaps and develop solutions that support future business needs.

  • Contribute to organisation design, workforce effectiveness and change initiatives.

Partner with Senior Leaders

  • Coach, influence and advise leaders on people and organisational challenges.

  • Provide pragmatic, risk-based guidance that balances business objectives with people outcomes.

  • Build leadership capability and support sustainable, scalable ways of working.

Deliver Enterprise People Programs

  • Partner with Centres of Expertise to deploy key people initiatives across the employee lifecycle.

  • Support the successful implementation of talent, reward, workforce planning, organisational development and leadership programs.

  • Ensure a consistent and high-quality employee and leader experience across global business units.

Enable Change and Growth

  • Support leaders through organisational change, transformation and business evolution.

  • Guide stakeholder engagement, communication and implementation planning.

  • Help maintain employee engagement and organisational effectiveness through periods of change.

Improve the Way We Work

  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve organisational outcomes.

  • Use data, insights and workforce metrics to inform decision-making and prioritisation.

  • Champion continuous improvement and global ways of working across the People & Culture function.

You bring a strong combination of commercial thinking, stakeholder influence and problem-solving capability, and are energised by working in dynamic, global environments.

You Will Likely Bring

  • Experience partnering with leaders in a Human Resources, People & Culture, Organisation Development or Workforce Transformation capacity.

  • Experience working within global or regional organisations across multiple geographies.

  • Strong business partnering, consulting or advisory experience.

  • Demonstrated success leading organisational change, transformation or capability-building initiatives.

  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and navigating complex matrix environments.

  • Strong project leadership and execution capability.

  • Experience using workforce insights and data to inform decisions and drive outcomes.

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Use of AI (e.g. co-pilot, Clark or another platform) to improve productivity or quality of outputs.

  • Strategic Business Partnering – Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand the broader business landscape, connect people initiatives to business outcomes, and influence decision-making.

  • Consulting & Influencing Skills – Skilled in diagnosing complex challenges, using data and insights to identify priorities, and partnering with senior leaders to deliver impactful solutions.

  • Communication & Stakeholder Engagement – Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence leaders across global business functions.

  • Change Leadership & Coaching – Proven ability to lead organisational change, coach leaders through transformation, and maintain engagement throughout periods of transition.

  • Project Leadership & Execution – Demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands, develop implementation plans, and deliver initiatives successfully in a fast-paced environment.

  • Adaptability & Continuous Learning – Thrives in changing environments, embraces new ways of working, and effectively manages multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Employee Relations & Risk Management – Sound understanding of employment-related risk and employee relations practices, with the judgement to navigate complex issues and escalate appropriately.
