Rate: $45-$55k

Location: Dyker Heights with travel to Monticello, NY and other locations

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Overnight Respite Coordinator position is to facilitate programs in a camp-like setting for children and adults ages 9 and up who have challenges related to their developmental disability. The programs will last either 4,5 or 10 days and are scheduled throughout the year. They also include travel from either Manhattan or Brooklyn to our facility in Monticello, NY. We are looking for an upbeat, enthusiastic coordinator who can lead a staff, create an ongoing list of activities and implement them all while keeping our participants engaged and excited about participating in the program.

The facility has multiple buildings on-site as well as an outdoor pool, sporting equipment, firepit and many local attractions. We schedule 5 activities a day, including local excursions as well as on-site activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead program by both developing curriculum and on-site program coordination.
  • Ensure program continuity by communicating daily expectations and shifts to support staff, participants, families and management.
  • Manage program assets including keys, payment cards, devices, supplies and access codes.
  • Coordinate transportation routes and assign staff tasks to support efficient work-site preparation and program operations, while ensuring uninterrupted participant supervision.
  • Track enrollment, attendance, and program metrics across sites.
  • Develop programming, order supplies, communicate with facilitators and management.
  • Ensure safety of all participants and staff at all times, notifying the appropriate parties in the event of an emergency and complete all documentation.
  • Review each participant's service plan and implement strategies when necessary.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with persons with developmental disabilities is a must, minimally 1 year.
  • Background as a camp director, program coordinator or recreational program is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Complete all trainings including safety protocols from the Agency prior to start.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and excitement to the participants, while also completing routine safety checks.
  • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly.
