The Role

Overview:
A Northern California Grapevine Nursey is looking for an experienced Sales Representative to cover the North Coast (Livermore to Ukiah). While the Nursery proudly supplies grapevines to all corners of North America, this individual will be responsible for all activities related to selling grapevine products in their designated territory. The Sales representative will report directly to the Nursery’s Owner/General Manager. 
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 

• Manage all sales activities in his/her designated territory
• Develop and follow-up sales with new and existing customers
• Go out to the territory and call on new and continuing customers 
• Follow up via phone, email, and in-person visits
• Submit, manage and update sales orders on a daily basis based on production changes
• Keep close communication with production team to give efficient and timely status of order to clients 
• Maintain detailed records of client communications
• Maintain spreadsheets of sales territory clients and sales information 
• Collaborate with production, quality control, administrative and shipping departments to ensure timely and complete delivery to customer
• Follow up on a regular basis after planting ensuring quality and performance of products
• Attend client plantings and conduct field visits 
• Attend all trade shows and industry meetings to expand network and visibility of the nursery 
• Memberships to industry associations
• Other special projects as assigned
Requirements:
 

Key qualifications include but are not limited to the following:
• Bachelor's degree in agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Pathology is a plus
• Valid Driver’s License & Passport 
• Experience in agricultural business, Sales and marketing a plus selling directly to growers
• Proficient using Microsoft Office products 
• Communicate clearly and effectively
• Able to conduct public speaking talks & presentations on plant material
• Ability to participate in the planning of technical meetings & open houses
• Ability to travel out of state, Canada, Mexico & other
Desirable:
 

• Plant propagation experience
• PCA License
• Farming experience
• Public speaking
• Bilingual 
• Irrigation 
• Willing to work weekends and afterhours
Compensation:
Competitive base salary range ($60-80k) + generous commission (TBD based upon candidate background/experience), medical, PTO (two-weeks/year), 401k. Relocation assistance may be available.
