Summary
As an Outside Sales Account Representative, you will process customer inquiries and orders, expedite product and service deliveries, and serve as the primary liaison with internal teams on design, delivery, and service matters. You will develop and maintain sales contacts, perform limited sales functions, and apply fundamental concepts and procedures with some evaluation and ingenuity. This role involves varied tasks with limited final decision-making authority, primarily focusing on domestic customersDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, control, and manage sales activities to maximize volume and potential with assigned customers.
- Serve as primary customer liaison with TAI: prepare accurate, on-time quotes for new items/major changes, lead negotiations, communicate costs/timing, issue price-change notices, and deliver presentations.
- Spend ~50% of time on customer site/plant visits (end-user meetings, prospecting, pre/post-call planning); remaining time in office handling customer requests and admin tasks.
- Deliver all TOK orders; maintain strong customer relationships; provide 24/7 availability for downtime calls and BCP needs; submit weekly report by EOB Thursday.
- Collaborate with engineering, program management, quality, manufacturing, and purchasing to define products that meet customer needs; perform ad-hoc program management as required.
- Coordinate launch activities and timing (minor/major changes) with customers and internal teams; establish follow-up to keep projects on schedule.
- Research and resolve customer issues (pricing, engineering changes, shipping); recommend product modifications; reconcile discrepancies with contracts/agreements.
- Monitor sales performance vs. plan; prepare periodic sales/pipeline reports; implement countermeasures; supply data for forecasts and the business plan.
- Identify new business opportunities and recommend exit/outsource strategies for unprofitable business; perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business Management or Supply Chain Management majors ideal).
- 3–6 years of experience in a similar role.
- MRO and/or industrial sales experience highly desirable.
