We are looking for a passionate Output Software Engineer with strong experience in banking document production and specific expertise in Quadient Inspire Flex and Java. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the team to design, develop and operate software supporting the management of bank documents, taking ownership of the complete document lifecycle—from requirements analysis and data integration to template creation, testing, deployment, monitoring, maintenance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain scalable, secure and reliable output management solutions for banking documents, in line with the product roadmap, client requirements, regulatory expectations and agreed quality standards.
- Create, configure and maintain document templates and reusable components using Quadient Inspire Flex, ensuring consistency, maintainability, multilingual support and correct rendering across supported delivery channels.
- Develop Java-based services, extensions and integrations connecting banking applications, data sources and downstream distribution channels with the output management platform.
- Collaborate with the Product Owner, Solution Architect, business analysts and other stakeholders to translate document and communication requirements into robust technical designs, data mappings and implementation plans.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of document solutions, including versioning, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, incident resolution, upgrades and controlled retirement, while enforcing coding, security and auditability best practices.
- Implement comprehensive unit, integration, regression and output-comparison tests to verify business rules, data accuracy, layout quality, performance and backward compatibility of generated documents.
- Perform code and template reviews, contribute to engineering standards and documentation, and share expertise through coaching, knowledge-transfer sessions and pair programming.
- Take ownership of assigned components and document domains, ensuring operational stability, traceability, high availability and effective collaboration with support and delivery teams.
Skills and Experience
- Proven professional experience with Quadient Inspire Flex, including Inspire Designer, template creation and editing, reusable components, styles, business rules, data mapping, multilingual content, interactive documents, rendering and output validation.
- Strong understanding of the complete banking document lifecycle, from requirements and source-data analysis to template development, testing, versioning, deployment, distribution, monitoring, maintenance and controlled retirement.
- Solid Java development knowledge and hands-on experience with modern Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, XML and JSON processing, SQL and automated unit and integration testing.
- Good command of common software-engineering tools and practices, including Git, Bitbucket, Maven or Gradle, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, debugging, dependency management, secure coding and technical documentation.
- Experience with technologies commonly used in the Avaloq environment, including containerised applications, Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift, JMS and REST-based integration, relational databases and cloud-native deployment and operations.
- Ability to analyse document data structures and integration contracts, troubleshoot issues across templates, rendering services and downstream delivery channels, and verify functional and non-functional quality.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot or comparable AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, combined with the technical judgement required to review, test, secure and validate generated code before it is accepted.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and a quality-oriented mindset, particularly for regulated banking documents where accuracy, consistency, auditability and data protection are essential.
- Fluency in English and the ability to collaborate effectively with software engineers, template developers, product owners, architects, business analysts and operations teams.
