We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our outpatient addiction treatment facility in Pittsburgh. This role is ideal for a nursing professional who is passionate about behavioral healthcare, substance use treatment, and delivering exceptional patient care in a collaborative environment.

Schedule
  • Monday - Thursday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Friday: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
  • No weekends!
Pay

$24.00 - $28.00 per hour

Compensation is based on experience in addiction medicine.

Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing direct nursing services within an outpatient addiction treatment setting. The LPN works closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, counselors, and other treatment professionals to support client health, safety, and recovery outcomes. Responsibilities include medication administration, nursing assessments, withdrawal monitoring, patient education, and clinical documentation. 

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care and clinical support to clients.
  • Administer medications and monitor effectiveness and side effects.
  • Complete nursing assessments, screenings, and documentation.
  • Monitor withdrawal symptoms using tools such as COWS and CIWA.
  • Educate clients on medications, health conditions, and recovery-related topics.
  • Support providers during medical evaluations and medication management appointments.
  • Communicate significant health concerns and changes in condition to the treatment team.
  • Maintain medication storage, clinical supplies, and medical equipment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all professional, regulatory, and organizational standards. 
QualificationsRequired
  • Current, active, and unrestricted Pennsylvania LPN license
  • Current CPR/BLS & First Aid certification
  • Possession of strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred
  • Experience in addiction medicine, substance use disorder treatment, or behavioral health
  • Knowledge of withdrawal management protocols and medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
