Role and Impact:
As a Shift Group Leader, you will lead a team of skilled technicians responsible for supporting Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) within Intel's Arizona manufacturing factories. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of AMHS operations that directly enable factory productivity and manufacturing continuity.
You will provide hands-on operational leadership for a shift-based organization, overseeing daily execution, staffing, service quality, and continuous improvement efforts. Your leadership will drive safe operations, rapid issue resolution, and consistent adherence to operational standards while fostering an inclusive and high performing team environment.
This position offers the opportunity to influence factory operations by improving system reliability, technician capability, and operational discipline within a highly automated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct leadership and supervision for a shift-based team of AMHS technicians supporting factory operations
- Set daily and shift priorities to ensure effective execution of maintenance, troubleshooting, and system support activities
- Own day-to-day functional management, including performance management, coaching, training, and technician development
- Ensure operational coverage, staffing levels, and workload balance meet defined factory, safety, and quality requirements
- Monitor, track, and report key operational metrics, shift performance indicators, and system availability data
- Act as an escalation point for AMHS incidents, system interruptions, and factory-impacting events, ensuring timely resolution and communication
- Drive continuous improvement of AMHS operational processes, procedures, and documentation, including standardization and automation where applicable
- Partner closely with the Engineering Operations Manager, AMHS Engineering teams, and peer organizations at other Intel campuses to align priorities, address systemic issues, share best practices, and support cross-site initiatives
- Collaborate with factory stakeholders, engineering teams, and vendor partners to ensure AMHS performance meets manufacturing needs
- Manage forecasting, reporting, and budgeting/expense control for the assigned shift or operation
- Represent the AMHS operation in daily reviews, shift handoffs, and cross-functional operational forums
- Role model Intel values by maintaining a strong focus on safety, inclusion, accountability, and operational excellence
This position operates on a compressed work week, Shift 6 schedule. It is a night-time, back half of the week schedule that goes from PM-AM, Wed-Fri and alternating Saturday night with hours targeted from 6pm to 6am each day.
This role will be a people manager position and will have direct reports

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Operations Management or any other related field OR equivalent of 2+ years of management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) or similar highly automated manufacturing systems
- Factory business acumen, demonstrated through successful support of manufacturing operations and alignment with factory priorities
- Proven ability to partner effectively with internal and cross site stakeholders to resolve systemic issues and drive operational improvements
- Demonstrated stakeholder management skills, including communication, alignment, and execution across organizational boundaries
- Experience leading teams in a shift based or 24x7 manufacturing environment

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $128,880.00-211,200.00 USD
