Job Summary
Lightpath is seeking an OSP Permitting Manager who will be responsible for supporting the construction of a 160+ mile fiber network in both Atlanta and Arizona. Individual will be working with Engineering Vendors and Lightpath project team who are physically designing the network and submitting the designs to municipalities for permits. The permitting manager will be responsible for all the tracking of such design packages and the permitting process with municipalities.
The OSP Permitting Manager is a vital part of the Lightpath team. LP has near-term plans to dramatically accelerate expansion and, in doing so, the construction of new conduit/fiber plant. The OSP team is responsible for working with outside engineers and contractors to enable the rapid deployment of plant in order to enable this expansion, and the OSP Permitting Manager plays a key role in this process.
Responsibilities
• Management of the end-to-end engineering process with OSP Engineering vendors from a permitting perspective• Creating process for the engineering teams to ensure accurate and consistent daily reporting on engineering segments of fiber routes.• Engage with engineering firm to understand parallel engineering from a route perspective and sequential order of routes being submitted for permitting.• Ensuring Engineering firms are all submitting consistent packages to all municipalities from a design standpoint, title blocks as an example and following municipality requirements on meeting expectations on what must be on the design drawings.• Building relationships with key individuals at the municipalities to ensure we understand requirements and timelines for approvals.• Work with municipalities to find ways of being more efficient with the process so we can receive permits in a timelier manner.• Setting up meeting with municipalities to ensure all issues are being resolved from a design submittal prospective.• Work within our Project Management software system or creating project trackers to ensure all packages are recorded and reportable as to the status of permitting for all fiber segments or spans.• Work with internal teams to pull any bonding requirements for municipalities and deliver such bonding paperwork to ensure timely permit release.• Other duties as required.
Qualifications
• College degree and/or equivalent 3 to 5 yrs experience in similar field.• Positive attitude, willingness, and eagerness to learn new things, team player.• Ability to understand/learn the fiber network engineering and construction process.• Working on a computer with advanced knowledge and Microsoft Office knowledge.• Advanced excel software experience a must.• Understanding and interpreting plant maps to understand contiguous permitting requirements.• Must have clean driving record.• Ability to pass drug test.• Ability to work with others on all responsibilities.
Additional Requirements • Requires sitting, hearing, and talking, occasional standing and walking, and infrequent bending at the waist, twisting of the upper body, kneeling, walking on uneven surfaces, squeezing and crouching. • Close detail work requiring visual acuity.
