Job Description

This role is an excellent opportunity for a developer with more than 4 years’ experience in PL/SQL development to apply their analytical skills while working with product owners, cross-disciplinary teams and QA to deliver high-quality functional solutions.

The role involves a number of responsibilities including:

  • Managing project source code and documentation
  • Developing and maintaining packages for background processing and reports
  • Developing and maintaining reports using PL/SQL, OAP and APEX
  • Providing ad hoc reports using SQL and PL/SQL
  • Analysing and resolving database issues
  • Advising on Oracle features and best practices

Knowledge of Oracle’s spatial extensions would be beneficial due to a geospatial component in the project.
Knowledge of APEX and OAP would also be beneficial.

Qualifications

Essential requirements

  • 5+ years’ Oracle PL/SQL Developer experience
  • Good understanding of code version management and code promotion practices in an enterprise environment
  • Good knowledge of source control tools
  • Effective communication (written and oral), interpersonal, analytical and organisational skills
  • Experience with effort estimation and requirements gathering
  • Database tuning and performance monitoring skills
  • Understanding of data modelling and database design
  • Familiarity with preparing and maintaining technical documentation

Desirable experience

  • Completion of an Oracle Professional Certification
  • Familiarity with unit testing and continuous integration
  • Knowledge of APEX and OAP
