What we need  

As an Oracle DBA on our growing team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining Oracle databases to ensure their availability, performance, and security that extends across Application/ Server/ Storage/ Network technologies. You will help administer a large, complex production DB environment and troubleshoot and provide system level guidance/ solutions. This role supports Oracle databases for production, testing, and staging environments across the company.

What you’ll do 

  • Database Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases in development, testing, and production environments both On-Premises and On Cloud.  

  • Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, including query optimization, indexing, and resource allocation.  

  • Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.  

  • Security Management: Configure and enforce database security policies, manage user access, and ensure compliance with security standards.  

  • Patch Management: Apply and test Oracle patches and updates to keep the database software current.  

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data corruption.  

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation for database configurations, procedures, and processes.  

  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and other IT staff to support database-related requirements and projects.  

  • Capacity Planning: Monitor and forecast database growth, and plan for future capacity requirements.  

  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and test disaster recovery plans to ensure data recovery in case of major failures.  

 

What you'll need 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) preferred. 

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experienceas an Oracle DBA or in a similar role.  

  • Proficiency in Oracle database software, including Oracle 18c or 19c and higher. 

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL.  

  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.  

  • Experience with operating systems (Linux/Unix) and Windows.  

  • Hands on experience with DB standards and end user applications-translating capacity requirements into infrastructure deployment technology. 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.  

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 

  • Experience with source control software such as GIT and WinCVS. 

  • This person must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and support unscheduled events.  

  • This person must be a self-starter and highly motivated.  

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)/ GCP and/or other cloud-based database solutions. 

  • Strong practical experience of ORACLE in a production environment. 

 

Our Environment 

  • Up to 25% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.  

  • The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
