Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Oracle Database
Administrator (DBA) with 6+ years of hands-on experience in managing,
maintaining, and optimizing Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate
should have strong expertise in Oracle Database administration, performance
tuning, backup and recovery, high availability solutions, and production
support. The candidate should be capable of handling critical database
operations in a 24x7 enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install,
configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle Database (11g, 12c, 19c, and above).
- Perform
database administration activities including creation, migration, cloning,
and decommissioning of databases.
- Monitor
database health, performance, storage, and availability.
- Perform
database performance tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Trace, and execution
plans.
- Manage
backup and recovery using RMAN and perform disaster recovery activities.
- Administer
Oracle Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Manage
Oracle RAC environments and troubleshoot cluster-related issues.
- Perform
database security administration, including user management, roles,
privileges, and auditing.
- Implement
database patching, PSU/RU updates, and Oracle upgrades.
- Troubleshoot
database performance issues, locking, blocking, deadlocks, and space
management problems.
- Automate
routine DBA tasks using Shell scripting or PL/SQL.
- Monitor
database alerts, logs, and proactively resolve issues.
- Coordinate
with application, infrastructure, and development teams during deployments
and production releases.
- Prepare
and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
- Participate
in on-call support and production incident management.
Required Skills
- 6+
years of Oracle Database Administration experience.
- Strong
knowledge of Oracle Database 11g, 12c, and 19c.
- Expertise
in RMAN Backup and Recovery.
- Hands-on
experience with Oracle RAC and Oracle Data Guard.
- Strong
SQL and PL/SQL knowledge.
- Experience
in database performance tuning and SQL optimization.
- Knowledge
of Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management).
- Experience
with database patching, upgrades, and migrations.
- Proficiency
in Linux/UNIX administration and Shell scripting.
- Good
understanding of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
- Knowledge
of database security and auditing.
- Experience
supporting mission-critical production databases.
Preferred Skills
- Experience
with Oracle GoldenGate.
- Exposure
to cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Amazon Web
Services (AWS), or Microsoft Azure.
- Knowledge
of automation tools such as Ansible.
- Experience
with DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins, or CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity
with ITIL processes, incident management, and change management.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s
degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a
related field.
- Oracle
Database certifications are preferred.
