Job Title: Oracle DBA

Location: Bangalore

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Application DBA to be a key member of our App DBA team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Core Oracle DBA, a solid understanding of Data Guard, proficiency in RAC, and at least average knowledge of GoldenGate. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our Oracle databases, troubleshooting issues, coordinating with Sys DBA teams, and collaborating with the Product Development team.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Oracle DBA:

• Create and manage user roles.
• Perform data refreshes from higher environments.
• Optimize database performance through tuning.
• Manage backup and recovery operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Oracle database issues.
• Raise Service Requests (SR) with Oracle and follow up until resolution.

Data Guard:

• Implement and manage Oracle Data Guard configurations.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for Oracle databases.

RAC (Real Application Clusters):

• Troubleshoot server and database issues (excluding shutdown and startup).
• Provide support and resolution for RAC-related issues.

Coordination and Communication

• Act as the primary point of contact (POC) for the Business Unit and collaborate with the Sys DBA team for change management and coordinate weekend activities.
• Work with assigned applications to manage data in the supporting databases.
• Liaise with the Product Development team to address and fulfill database-related requests.

GoldenGate:

• Add new tables to GoldenGate configurations (uni-directional and bi-directional).
•  Troubleshoot and restart GoldenGate processes, including log and pump issues.
•  Identify and resolve lag issues within the GoldenGate environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Core Oracle DBA fundamentals, including user roles, data refreshes, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
• Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Oracle Data Guard and RAC environments.
• Experience with GoldenGate configuration and troubleshooting.
• Ability to effectively coordinate with multiple teams and communicate complex technical issues clearly.
• Experience with raising and managing Service Requests with Oracle Support.
