JOB SUMMARY

The Distribution Center Department Manager, Office is responsible for overseeing daily administrative and logistics operations to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient shipment processing. The Office Supervisor fosters a culture of operational excellence, customer service, safety compliance, and continuous improvement while serving as a liaison between internal teams and external partners

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Documentation & Compliance:
     Accurately process and verify all shipping and receiving paperwork, including Bills of Lading and packing slips, with minimal administrative errors. Ensure all documentation aligns with internal policies and compliance standards.

  • Trailer Inventory Management:
     Maintain real-time and accurate trailer inventory through door checks, yard audits, and close coordination with the yard and operations teams.

  • Inbound/Outbound Coordination:
     Schedule, monitor, and adjust inbound and outbound shipments to meet operational timelines and service-level agreements.

  • Customer Service & Issue Resolution:
     Provide timely and effective support to internal departments and external partners by resolving inquiries and operational issues with a focus on service and efficiency.

  • Discrepancy & Problem Solving:
     Quickly identify and resolve operational discrepancies. Proactively communicate with all relevant stakeholders to ensure continuity and transparency.

  • Cross-Shift Communication:
     Ensure clear, consistent communication between shifts and departments to support seamless transitions and accurate information flow.

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:
     Foster a collaborative, productive team environment by modeling professionalism, driving accountability, and encouraging cross-functional alignment.

  • Training & Performance Management:
     Provide training and coaching to team members. Recognize high performance and address underperformance constructively, collaborating with HR as needed.

  • Quality & Accuracy:
     Maintain high-quality standards and low error rates across all clerical and operational touchpoints, contributing to overall distribution center efficiency.

     

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience in a distribution, logistics, or warehouse environment

  • 1+ year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of shipping/receiving processes and documentation

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems (WMS)

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English

  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced environment

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

  • Ability to lift 75 pounds required 

Skills Required
