Job Description

The Position 

We have opportunities for Operators and Day Services Operators to join the team at our Kemerton site, working Monday to Friday.

These roles are responsible for operating and controlling various areas of the Lithium Hydroxide processing equipment in a safe, responsible, and efficient manner.

Operating the plant involves many different activities, including;

  • Operator - overseeing the control of the process, product sampling, operating large mobile equipment and monitoring operational equipment. 

  • Day Services Operators - overseeing the control of the process, product sampling, Filter cloth re-press, operating large mobile equipment and monitoring operational equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Carrying out visual checks of the area, as per procedures and training, to ensure safe and efficient performance.

  • Carry out scheduled tasks that ensure safe and efficient performance, as per procedure and training.

  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping.

  • Ensure the safe operation of mobile equipment onsite, as per procedure and training.

  • Responsible for filter cloth re-press 

  • Operating mobile equipment onsite such as Forklifts and Gantry cranes. 

  • Contribute to problem solving of issues that arise if the area is not performing safely and efficiently.

  • Contribute to improvement activities and ideas to improve performance of area. 

  • Monitoring the plant control system, as per training to ensure safe and efficient performance.

  • Carry out scheduled checks that ensure safe and efficient performance of the plant control system, as per procedure and training.

  • Lead problem solving of issues that arise if the plant control system is not performing safely and efficiently. 

  • Lead improvement activities and ideas to improve performance of the plant control system.

  • Ensuring that the protocols deemed required to design safe work have been applied prior to approving work design.

  • Ensuring that activities and training deemed required to commence work safely have been completed satisfactorily prior to approving work to commence.

  • Ensuring work is being completed as per the procedures deemed required for the safe completion of that work.

  • Ensuring that procedures required to return equipment operational status at the completion of work area carried out satisfactorily prior to approval for operational use. 

  • Lead problem solving of issues that arise if work design, preparation, execution, and equipment return to service does not occur in a safe and efficient manner. 

  • Lead improvement activities and ideas to improve the performance of the work design, preparation execution and equipment return to service systems. 

Work Experience / Technical Skill Requirements 

  • Experience working in an industrial environment ideally processing, manufacturing or similar. 

  • Experience in complex, high risk environments. 

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral 

  • Ability to problem solve  

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and as individual. 

  • Demonstrated experience in multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks 

  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment  

 

Education / Qualification Requirements 

  • Certificate in Process Plant Operations - highly regarded 

  • Permit to Work

  • Confined Space 

  • Dogging and Rigging Licence – highly desirable
