Job Summary:
The Strategic Sourcing Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of long-term sourcing strategies and plans, through deep market analysis and understanding, for all major supply chains.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and manages key supplier relationships to reduce overall total costs, enhance product performance and continuously improve supplier performance.
  • Identifies, selects, and proactively develops suppliers who provide superior value in quality products that provide the best value.
  • Utilize data and analytics to identify opportunities and develop sourcing strategies to reduce cost and working capital, improve internal and external service levels, and support customers goals.
  • Leads negotiation efforts and documentation of arrangements with key suppliers via long-term supply agreements and price agreements.
  • Identify, mitigate and escalate procurement risks and develop risk management procedures to enable the company to meet its obligations.
  • Manage conflicting priorities and resolve escalations to execute sourcing strategies and solutions.
  • Monitor / manage / coordinate all Cost Down, Purchase Price Variance (PPV)-Related initiatives
  • Provide organizational leadership and direction, with an emphasis on team building.
  • Develop and implement direct and indirect supplier and commodity strategies to support the overall operation for the Company and the various enterprise locations. Develop a responsive supplier base, providing cost effective, on-time delivery of quality material.
  • Ensure the compliance of the approved sourcing and procurement procedures (i.e. FAR, DFAR, and ISO). Interface with Contract Compliance personnel to assure consistency of compliance activities.
  • Develop and manage the Small Disadvantaged Business program and Annual Certifications and Representations process for Company
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or another related field.


Work Experience Requirements:

  • Seven to ten years in Strategic Sourcing and/or Supply Chain in a manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing philosophies, commodities management, pricing indices, global sourcing footprints, etc.


Travel Requirements:

  • This position involves travel up to 25% of the time.

  • Works collaboratively and build strategic relations with colleagues, coworkers, contractors, and customers.


Physical Demands:

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
