The Sr. Manager, Business Continuity and Crisis Management is responsible for leading a distributed team of business continuity and resilience professionals working to identify and minimize exposure to internal and external threats and provide effective prevention, response, recovery, and restoration from any disruption to Micron's critical operations. The scope includes leadership of all aspects of business continuity management at semiconductor manufacturing sites, non-manufacturing sites, and strategic suppliers with the goal of building a best-in-class business continuity management program delivering a highly resilient operation. Scope of the position includes ownership of crisis management processes in global operations to ensure appropriate response should an event occur.
Essential Functions

  • Ensure all sites have effective and accurate business continuity and crisis management programs in place that incorporate both best practices and current industry standards.
  • Implement crisis management tools to reduce workload during events ensure visibility of activities, and information is quickly and accurately available to decision makers.
  • Maintain and implement the long-term program roadmap to ensure Micron maintains a leading position in operational resilience.
  • Lead implementation and maintenance of resilience programs. This includes:
  • Provide active support and daily oversight of the core program as well as cross-functional efforts such as recovery capability alignment and systems administration.
  • Lead business continuity focused meetings with senior and executive management to provide awareness, ensure resourcing, and set the scope of the program.
  • Identify and support process, system, and tool improvements specific to organizational resilience.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce to program policy, metrics, KPIs, training, exercises, regulatory requirements, and all other supporting governance activities to ensure an efficient and effective program.
  • Partner with the executive team and other stakeholders across the organization to enhance resilience capabilities
  • Work with Information Technology Disaster Recovery (ITDR) teams to ensure critical ITDR applications have fully documented, tested, executable plans that contain all required information, reflect current conditions from an IT infrastructure recovery standpoint, and are able to support the recovery objectives of the organization
  • Work with the Third-Party Risk Team to identify BCP gaps in strategic suppliers and contract manufacturers and work on joint testing and exercises with vendors and/or customers in order to ensure end to end resilience
  • Assist in preparation for audits
  • During crisis events ensure a fast, flat, and accurate flow of information from site level to executive team. Ensure engagement and interaction from task owners and drive response, recovery, and restoration timelines across Micron.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, supervise, and recognize program team members
  • Set metrics and targets for BCM program. Plan and schedule program timelines and achievements using appropriate tools.
  • This position will require some off-business hour availability and travel.

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of work experience with a bachelor's degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD)
  • 5+ years of experience leading direct reports on a global team
  • Strong understanding and experience with business continuity methodologies, and applicable principles as well as their methods of implementation and maintenance
  • Comprehensive knowledge of resilience and recovery strategies in complex organizations
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams within a formalized methodology
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to collaborate across all groups and levels; must be able to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with direct reports, business partners or vendors in remote locations
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal and indirect influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to gain the confidence of individuals at various organizational levels
  • High level of personal initiative, creativity, and self-motivation
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Office 365 suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree / Master's degree preferred in the field of Technology, Engineering or Organizational Resilience / Business Continuity Management
  • Experience in best-in-class software tools associated with business continuity and crisis management
  • Experience in facilities, utilities, or manufacturing operations in the semiconductor industry.
  • CBCI, CBCP, MBCP, ABCP, CRISC, or CISA certification
  • Familiarity with fundamental IT concepts, infrastructure & data center technologies
  • PMP or similar project management certification and experience

Plans and directs schedules as well as project budgets. Monitors the project from inception through delivery. May engage and oversee the work of external vendors. Assigns, directs and monitors system analysis and program staff. These positions' primary focus is project/program management, rather than the application of expertise in a functional field of knowledge although they may have technical team members. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
