About the Team:
The Business Application team works in close partnership with our business partners to help fuel growth and revenue goals for Uber, along with driving exceptional customer and employee experiences. The team is responsible for developing and supporting innovative architecture-led solutions for our Marketing, Sales, Services, Customer Support & Legal business functions with Salesforce being the primary platform alongside other cutting edge platforms like Mulesoft for Integrations, Steelbricks for CPQ, Docusign CLM, Onelogin for SSO, Genesys Purecloud, NLP/Google dialog flow and others
About the Role
As an Senior Engineering Manager in the Business Applications team, you will be responsible for leading a team of software and systems engineers to build and execute advanced Salesforce and Genesys platform technical solutions for key Uber business lines including UberEats, Uber Freight and Uber for Business. This role is a leadership position with direct accountability and oversight over the technology ecosystem. You'll help solve complex problems in areas of B2B sales, support, communities and marketing. This role requires strong leadership and engagement with an outcomes driven mindset to deliver the technical solutions critical to business needs and problems.
What You'll Do:
• Understand the direction of the company, Business Applications team and primary business stakeholders and translate those into a purposeful team mission• Create and establish a strong vision and plan for the future of the Salesforce and Genesys platforms• Provide technical leadership and support for team members on all aspects of platform operations (incident troubleshooting, problem resolution, performance optimization, configuration, automation)• Lead a team of solution architects, systems engineers and software engineers. Be attentive to the needs and motivators of engineers, guiding and developing them into strong contributors and leaders• Empower the team members to take action and to take risks• Drive development and enforcement of standards, tools and methodologies• Provide direction to maximize project quality and team performance• Act as voice of the end-user, have a deep understanding of and anticipate and proactively seek customer feedback ensuring needs and requirements are clearly defined. Ensure team work product meets defined acceptance criteria• Inform and participate in business readiness, understand the impact of change and translate the approach to manage adoption and mitigate resistance• Partner with business leadership and translate business needs into an executable technical roadmap of prioritized projects• Collaborate with program managers to support them with project scope, timelines, resource plans, development (Agile Methodology), testing and communication plans• Partner with key leaders and peers across to determine resources required to achieve defined business outcomes.• Recruit team members and be active in hiring• Present proposals to Sales, Operational and Engineering leadership• Manage Software and Professional Services vendors
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in information systems or a related field• 10+ years of experience in leading teams and managing complex IT programs and working with high demand and rapidly growing organizations• 5+ years of proven leadership in people development, technology, and strategy• 5+ years of experience implementing Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Community Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Mulesoft, Genesys, Dialog flow and other complementary 3rd party tech stack solutions• Experienced in IT best practices regarding standard operating procedures, measurements, and reporting processes• Engineering design expertise in software, systems and infrastructure• Focus on defining a product value proposition that aligns with and supports the circle/value stream objectives and which is the north star for the team• Excellent verbal, written, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills• Excellent cross-functional senior-level stakeholder management experience• Critical thinker with solid deductive reasoning skills• Ability to work in a fast paced environment meeting the needs of a global business• Passion for technology, industry research and enjoys solving business problems
Preferred Qualifications:
• Salesforce Certifications• Genesys cloud certification
