SailPoint is seeking a Senior Technical Specialist - Sales Engineer based in the US. The Sr. Technical Specialist SE will provide technical pre-sales support using presentation and hands-on technical skills combined with solid Identity Management background. Working with our Sales Executives and WW Technical Specialist team, the Technical Specialist SE is primarily responsible for understanding the technical requirements of our clients and prospects and delivering successful technical evaluations, proof-of-concepts (POCs) and other late-stage "technical close" efforts in our sales cycles.
The Technical Specialist SE will also support our technical evaluation services team by ensuring the successful installation, integration and deployment of SailPoint solutions in customer environments during pre-sales activities. The position requires interaction with both the line-of-business (non-technical) and technical staff at customer sites and the ideal candidate must be able to clearly explain aspects of both the product and the implementation at the technical and functional level appropriate for the situation. Implementations often require on-site development in Java, Beanshell and XML.
The ideal candidate will possess strong Java and web application development/deployment/implementation skills. A working knowledge of REST, Postman, GitHub, Tomcat, SQL, LDAP, JSON, and programming languages such as Java is also highly desired. You will master the SailPoint products and learn the art of the possible for our solutions to extend functionality that meets more complex customer use cases
Responsibilities:
Actively participate in the sales process:

  • Explore customer requirements and explain how SailPoint solutions work
  • Perform technical evaluations of the SailPoint solutions to prospective customers
  • Prove to prospective customers that the technology works by taking on the lead role during customer evaluations and proof of concepts
  • Partner with regional Sales Engineers and Sales Executives
  • Create artifacts to scale the organization and streamline POCs


Requirements:

  • 5+ years professional experience as a technical resource in an enterprise software company;
  • 3+ years experience in the identity management/governance space;
  • Must have previous experience implementing Identity Governance solutions such as Oracle OIM, CA, IBM, OneIdentity etc. Experience with SailPoint IdentityIQ or IdentityNow is highly desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Familiarity/fluency with commercial security applications or enterprise directories and experience with the monitoring/management/deployment of said products is highly desirable


Location:
Position can be based anywhere in the United States. Candidates must be able to travel regularly within United States and Canada. Travel will be up to 25% (post-Covid).

BA/BS required
