Senior Manager Battery Lifecycle & Charging Infrastructure

About the role:
The Senior Manager will lead a team within the Sustainability, Recyclability & Secondary Use group. This person will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of the electric vehicle battery from design to production and will lead discussions with engineering on problem resolutions.
The role will be responsible for setting the strategy of recycling for the EV battery while adhering to the carbon footprint targets. They must be comfortable speaking in front of audiences internal & external providing an overview of GM's strategy for recycling. They will utilize their team and be the subject matter expert providing guidance to Public Policy, Legal and external contacts such as NAATBat a recycling committee pushing value positive. Ultimately this individual must have a belief of positive value recycling influencing those direct and indirect.
- Broad support of Bolt Recall with specific responsibilities in refurbishment & recycling
- Lead small but effective team to deliver recycling goals including finding positive value recycling and setting targets to achieve closed loop material recycling
- Lead team to:
- Support Public Policy strategy development
- Collaborate with Financial teams on business case development.
- Lead Advanced Technology Work Teams (ATWs) in recycling domain.
- Create and execute advanced recycling projects with recycling and CAM suppliers.
- Lead Cross Functional Teams that execute GM Manufacturing, Engineering, and CCA Li Ion Battery recycling sourcing activities.
- Create and foster an inclusive open culture where out-of-box thinking is encouraged. This manager will provide thought leadership, foster innovation, facilitate communication, and inspire passion into the organization.
- Hire, Train, develop, mentor, manage, and develop employees. Ensure there is right technical and leadership bench strength in the team. Cultivate a growth mindset.

Additional Description
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or business field
- 10+ years experience in engineering release or adjacent type experience
- 5+ years people leader experience
- 3+ years high voltage battery experience & battery recycling
- Experience in design release and managing statement of requirements
- Comfortable working in whitespace (new areas/concepts) and open-minded to new and changing approaches to ensure desired solution is achieved
- Demonstrated ability to understand business concepts, including the ability to critically evaluate and create project plans
- Ability to work with all levels within General Motors globally and across functional boundaries e.g. finance, purchasing, vehicle development, legal, including senior leaders
