We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Director of Intelligent Automation to lead our organization's efforts in implementing and managing intelligent automation solutions. As the Senior Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful implementation of automation initiatives across the organization. You will play a key role in transforming our organization into a digitally-driven and agile enterprise, leveraging automation as a core product offering. Furthermore, you will be at the forefront of adopting emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI.
Responsibilities:
Planning and Execution:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for intelligent automation, aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Identify automation opportunities and prioritize them based on business impact and feasibility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Oversee the implementation of automation projects, ensuring successful delivery and measurable outcomes.


Leadership and Customer Relations:

  • Provide strong leadership to the automation team, setting clear goals, expectations, and performance targets.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work culture that encourages creativity, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including executive management, business unit leaders, and process owners.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, guiding them on automation opportunities and best practices.


Financial and Capacity Management:

  • Develop and manage the automation budget, ensuring effective utilization of resources and alignment with financial targets.
  • Monitor project costs, track ROI, and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Assess the organization's capacity for automation, identify skill gaps, and develop plans for upskilling or hiring as necessary.


Vendor and Program Management:

  • Oversee relationships with automation technology vendors and service providers, ensuring effective partnerships and timely delivery of solutions.
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of automation tools, platforms, and technologies.
  • Establish and maintain program management processes, including governance, risk management, and quality assurance.


Delivery and Operations:

  • Drive the successful delivery of automation projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Develop and implement operational frameworks, methodologies, and best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate automation performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.


Agile Transformation:

  • Lead the organization's agile transformation journey, promoting an agile mindset and driving the adoption of agile practices.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and empower teams to embrace iterative development, rapid prototyping, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion a culture of experimentation and innovation, encouraging the exploration and adoption of emerging technologies.


Automation as a Product:

  • Drive an Automation-as-a-Product mindset to re-orient the automation value proposition from a technology-first approach and towards an intentional business-first approach.
  • Develop and promote automation solutions as products that can be leveraged by multiple business units.


Emerging Technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in intelligent automation, including artificial intelligence, generative AI, machine learning, and cognitive technologies.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and develop strategies for their integration into automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders to explore and implement cutting-edge automation capabilities.


Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required + 12 or more years of relevant work experience required in related field
  • OR MS degree + 10 years of experience
  • OR Ph.D. degree + 7 years of experience
  • OR AA/AS degree + 18 years of experience
  • OR 24 + years of experience with no degree
  • At least 7 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in leading intelligent automation initiatives, including process automation, robotic process automation (RPA), and cognitive automation.
  • Strong understanding of automation technologies, tools, and platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, program management, and change management.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
