Principal Associate, Training & Risk Team Lead, Campus Strategy & Shared Services

Capital One’s Students & Grads Strategy & Shared Services team is at the forefront of attracting, sourcing, and developing future leaders. We aspire to provide a best-in-class experience for candidates, hiring teams, program associates, and business partners, and have a ton of fun along the way. Our culture and people are integral to our growth and success, where innovation is rewarded and you can learn from talented coworkers.

We are hiring a Principal Associate to lead the strategic direction and delivery of our Students & Grads training infrastructure and risk mitigation efforts within our Campus Operations team. Our Campus Operations team sits within Campus Strategy & Shared Services and provides horizontal support to our recruiting and program teams, as well as our broader OneCampus organization. The Campus Operations team seeks to transform the OneCampus process infrastructure for optimum sustainability, scaling, and experience for OneCampus associates, partners, and our candidates. As a leader in this space, you will partner with the Campus Operations Team Lead to define the future direction of horizontal training and risk mitigation, in order to support well-managed growth at scale and team enablement. You will serve as a critical connection point between our Campus teams, our partner teams in Talent Acquisition, and our own teams within Campus Strategy and Shared Services.

The ideal candidate will have a process and risk mindset and be comfortable using judgment to strategically solve problems within an ambiguous environment. You will have experience transforming processes to make them simpler and more scalable, with customer experience a core tenet, and you will get excitement around doing so. You are an excellent communicator, with the ability to connect dots across multiple teams, processes, and organizations and influence your stakeholders towards your desired recommendation.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Leading the team designing, delivering and promoting the adoption of horizontal training and resources that bring clarity to OneCampus processes, standardize across teams, and mitigate risk

  • Leading the strategic direction of OneCampus training content delivery, going beyond the current focus on recruiting roles, and contributing to the successful onboarding and continued role-specific training of all OneCampus team members

  • Setting the OneCampus process communication strategy, identifying how and where we are equipping the team with the right message and aligning on a streamlined communication strategy that can be a model for all major horizontal process rollouts

  • Identifying key opportunities across the OneCampus organization or partner groups to bring clarity to team processes, standardize, and align on streamlined process; employing relevant training or targeted communications to close gaps and create more efficient processes, or delivering long-term sustainable and scalable solutions

  • Serving as the Campus Risk Partner, consulting on the application of Talent Acquisition risk principles to campus processes, overseeing the remediation and corrective actions of all campus risk incidents, and partnering across TA Risk, Legal, Compliance, Immigration, and other partner groups to ensure campus's compliance with relevant TA regulations

  • Strengthening partner interaction models across team processes, defining and communicating team goals, and influencing stakeholders towards our recommended future state

  • Partnering with the PMO and Campus Tech Strategy to consult on new programs, pilots, and system launches, identifying risk, selection, and training dependencies

  • Serving as a people leader for 2-3 direct reports, empowering and inspiring them to deliver their best work each day, establishing a team environment where each team member feels included and valued, and managing all talent and performance management activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience working in recruiting, HR, learning and development, risk management or process management

  • At least 2 years of experience in Google Suite products (ie: Sheets, Slides, Docs)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of experience working in recruiting, HR, learning and development, risk management or process management

  • Experience leading small teams focused on process management, recruiting, learning and development, risk management or other HR functions

  • At least 3 years of experience in Google Suite products (ie: Sheets, Slides, Docs)

  • At least 1 year of people leadership experience

  • Knowledge of talent acquisition risk principles and the ability to apply them to dynamic situations with unclear paths forward

  • Experience interpreting metrics, trends, and survey data
