(Micro) Electronics Assembly Technician

Main-mission communication satellites, wideband links, command and telemetry, and terrestrial networks, along with their enabling technologies, are the domain of the Communication Technologies and Engineering Division. The division comprises all aspects, from architectures to implementation; our engineers work directly with corporate customers to ensure robust and resilient communications. We need you to build the RF amplifiers and microwave test equipment that solve our customers’ toughest problems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Attachment of leaded, QFN, fine-pitch packages and other components to circuit boards and microwave substrates
- Attachment of MMIC die to packages or fixtures
- Lite fabrication of custom mechanical fixtures—drilling, taping, filing
- Fabrication of wiring and harnesses
- Drawing and reading of plans
- Testing and Measurement of electronic and microwave circuits (meters, oscilloscopes)
- Supporting other microwave laboratory activities
This position can be filled as an Electronics Assembly Technician II or III.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for Electronics Assembly Technician II:
- Associates degree or Higher with 5 years of experience in the field of electronics assembly
- 100% on site presence
- Demonstrated soldering ability
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities
- Ability to interact and work with a diverse set of engineers and technician colleagues.
- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
Minimum Requirements for Electronics Assembly Technician III:
- All of the above requirements for Electronics Assembly Technician II
- Associates degree or Higher with 10 years of experience in the field of electronics assembly
- Strong experience with circuit layout using AutoCad, PADS, KiCAD, Altium or other commercial software programs
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Wire-bonding or Ball-bonding or Ribbon welding experience
- Circuit layout using AutoCad, PADS, KiCAD, Altium or other commercial software programs
- Machining experience using a mill
- Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer experience
- LPKF experience
