The SBA Closing and Packaging Manager is tasked with oversight and assurance of both bank policy and regulating agency compliance (SBA and USDA) in all areas of duties and responsibilities assigned to GGL closing and servicing staff. Those key duties and responsibilities are outlined below under Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities. The list is deemed to be comprehensive but not all inclusive; functions may evolve as new legislation is penned. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for packaging and closing SBA and USDA guaranteed loans
- Assign new loan approvals to each Packager/Closer
- Provide guidance with SBA Loan application package utilizing PCFS and e-Tran
- Prepare/review SBA Authorizations
- Ensure CAIVRS, OFAC, CIP checks for all appropriate entities are done properly.
- Coordinates with customer and legal counsel for loan closing
- Coordinates with SBA, USDA, tax, legal, audit, credit/loan policy, and regulatory officials
- May provide technical advice and assistance to Business Development personnel
- Act as a point of elevation for working with other associates to clear closing issues and answer questions.
- Develop additional training so that staff members are cross trained on various duties.
- Train all new associates on all Closing and Servicing processes and procedures.
- Work with SBA Packager/Closers in development and maintenance of all written procedures within the Department.
- Keeps informed of laws and regulations governing credit and collections.
- Initiates, provides and receives communication with customers to insure and maintain a satisfactory business relationship.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of Mortgage policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in use of computer, loan information systems and internet applications.
- Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills.
- Ability to Problem Solve and Resolve Conflict.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills to include time management and follow through.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to work effectively as a team & independently.
Industry and Work Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in an SBA lending environment with a focus in packaging and closing loans required with some supervisory experience.
- Experience in a USDA lending environment preferred.
- Possesses the knowledge of, and has the experience in, the specialized lending activities of SBA and USDA loan programs
- Commercial lending, documentation and/or operations experience in banking, law firm, title company or other related industry
Academic:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
