What You'll Do:

The Leave of Absence (“LOA”) Specialist  will directly oversee and maintain the LOA program which includes FMLA, Short-term Disability, Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended Act (“ADAAA”), and other company-specific leave programs. This position will serve as the in-house subject matter expert on matters involving the LOA program, and provide guidance and support to employees, managers and the greater Human Resources (“HR”) team. This role will be responsible for the management of the outsourced LOA vendor. Works closely with all levels of management, HR and employees as it pertains to leave management matters.
• Implement and oversee an outsourced LOA administration model
• Serve as liaison between employee, HR, Legal and LOA administrator to identify return to work opportunities for occupational or non-occupational injuries/illnesses
• Monitor process and communications to ensure employees, managers and HR understand the LOA process
• Serve as point of contact for the ADAAA interactive process based on medical certifications and company policy. Serve as liaison for facilitating return to work via the ADAAA interactive process.
• Support HR Business Partners to identify reasonable accommodations suitable for the employee’s work restrictions and limitations
• Provide regular training to field HR and managers regarding the LOA program and processes
• Identify and develop solutions to address issues and trends in absences
• Provide reporting and analysis for senior leadership
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information; ensures compliance with HIPAA
• Implement new internal processes and policies to be compliant with new Federal, State and Local leave laws
• Other projects or duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


• Experience managing an outsourced LOA vendor
• Knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to FMLA, ADAAA, and PFL
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, as well as time management skills
• High degree of self-motivation and discipline with a keen ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately
• Must be able to respond to complex and time sensitive issues in a high volume, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Must be able to manage multiple priorities and have reasoning ability to solve problems with solutions
• Does this position require traveling? __No_ If so, % of travel required? _N/A_
EDUCATION / SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in related and 5+ years of HR experience related to LOA management
• Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills required
• Knowledge of UKG is preferred
