JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Security Analyst will provide support to the Security Engineering Specialists to research security controls and how they relate to Caterpillar systems. The Security Analyst will participate in projects and research effectiveness of security controls and report this information to a Security Specialist. There will be a significant amount of research required for this position to understand Cloud and On-Prem technologies, and how Caterpillar is securing these technologies.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Self-Starter and ability to perform day to day tasks as assigned by a Security Specialist
- Research cybersecurity trends for cloud and on-prem solutions.
- Apply research and understand potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities by working with technical teams within IT.
- Assist Security Engineering Specialist to perform design and architecture reviews, validating that information security artifacts are created and align with industry standards and regulations.
- Assist with solution and application development remediation and mitigation activities
- Research specific technologies and document controls used on Caterpillar system configurations for components of systems like AWS, Azure, Linux, Windows, and Network.
- Continuous learning of cybersecurity industry trends utilizing a mixture of on the job training, self-training, and external training,
- Participate in application testing, threat modeling, attack and penetration testing, data classification and data handling
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field
- 3-5 Years of experience in an IT related field with a cybersecurity component
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and technical assessments
- Basic understanding with relevant industry standards, such as:
- ISO 27001, 27002
- NIST CSF
- NIST 800-82
- ISA 62443
- SOC Reporting
- Basic experience with information security processes and principles, such as:
- Enterprise security architecture
- Embedded systems security
- Threat model development
- Vulnerability assessment
- Risk analysis
- Defense in depth
- SDLC and product development processes
- Identity and access management
- Networking concepts (routing, design, TCP/IP)
- Business process design
- Web services security
Preferred Qualifications
- Cybersecurity Certifications
- AWS and Azure Certifications related to cybersecurity
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills; demonstrated ability to communicate highly technical security concepts to non-security audiences
- In Depth understanding and experience with information security technologies
- Ability to adjust to multiple demands, changing priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change, while multitasking effectively
This position can be on-site in Dallas, Texas.
