JOB DESCRIPTION:
JOB PURPOSE:
Provide personnel with IT tools, such as computing, networks, telephone, e-mail, data bases and ensure information protection.
JOB DUTIES:
- Network administration (active equipment, wireless network, TCP/IP)
- Server administration (file servers, data base servers, SNA server, mail server, application servers, print servers
- IS integration of CAT Tosno in IS of corporation, implantation of general procedures
- Telephone administration, equipment assembling and maintenance, service of unwire telephony
- Data base and application administration, information protection, data archivation
- Soft installation and up-grade
- Service of IS customers
- Planning and ordering of IT goods, choice of suppliers
The position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others.
Typical internal customers include a Department or Business/Service Unit in a Division. The position's primary customers are internal. The position changes the way work is performed to meet quality goals for the measure(s) stated. Most of the problems faced by the position are similar to those faced before and follow a pattern. The incumbent resolves issues by selecting the best solution from a few choices. The team or supervisor gives general instructions on what needs to be done, when it needs to be done and how it is typically done. The jobholder knows in advance the details of what needs to be done to serve customers and the standard procedures in place to accomplish it. They can change different parts of the standard approach to serve customers best, but cannot add or delete procedures without approval. The team or supervisor reviews work as it is being done and after it is completed. Impacts key quality goals including Customer Satisfaction, Timeliness, Accuracy, Efficiency, Cost Savings, etc. The position changes the way work is performed to meet quality goals for the measure(s) stated.
Limited travel required (Less than 5% of working time).
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
The position requires familiarity with various programming languages, knowledge of up-to-date programming technology, operating control systems, and overall understanding of the Caterpillar organization. The position typically requires a college or university degree or equivalent experience. In addition, three to five years of job-related experience are typically required. Jobholder is in frequent contact with people outside of work group to give or obtain information. It is important for jobholder to express themselves clearly. English is required
