Inventory and Receiving Associate
With the advent of genomic sequencing, we can finally decode and process our genetic makeup. We now have more data than ever before but providers don't have the infrastructure or expertise to make sense of said data. Here at Tempus Labs, we believe the greatest promise for the detection and treatment of cancer lies in the deep understanding of molecular activity for disease initiation, progression, and efficacious treatment based on the discovery of unique biomarkers.
We're on a mission to connect an entire ecosystem to redefine how genomic data is used in clinical settings. The new and rapidly growing supply chain team at Tempus is passionate about supporting this effort and is searching for a new receiving and inventory associate to assist procure the necessary supplies for a growing facility and operation.
What you’ll do:
- Act as first point of contact for all Tempus deliveries
- Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
- Enter / scan shipments into database, capturing packing lists and shipment paperwork
- Notify end-users of packages addressed to them
- Receive, unpack, and deliver goods; re-stocks items as necessary in labs
- Unload shipments / packages from incoming trucks
- Verify packages according to packing lists and purchase orders
- Immediately contact the purchasing team, shipper, supply vendor, etc. if a discrepancy is identified (incorrect product or quantity, damaged product or packaging, wrong quantity, etc.)
- Responsible for shipment of outgoing supplies, including returns
- Proper disposal of cardboard and shipment packing materials
- Perform weekly inventory counts and adjust database as needed
- Communicate with the inventory team on low quantity stock items within the medical lab
Qualifications:
Must have:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal abilities to work with external providers as well as internal customers
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency
- Excellent organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail
- Handle time sensitive and critical materials in a timely manner
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Highly Desirable:
- Proven experience as a receiving and inventory clerk & or similar position
- Working knowledge of computer software & barcoding for entering and maintaining data
- Familiarity with cycle counts and cycle count processes
- Experience with distribution of medical products or distribution within a medical setting
