Join our Independence Risk Management team and help protect EY from risks that arise from its professional services. The Independence team provides coordinated advice and assistance on independence, conflicts, regulatory and risk management issues, as well as supporting our people in managing the risks that arise in our daily working lives. You will work closely with all parts of the organization to identify, manage and monitor risk by providing coordinated advice and assistance on independence, compliance, regulatory, and ethical issues.

As a Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) Supervising Associate, you'll make educated, thoughtful decisions on Risk Management. Our brand depends on it. Your key responsibilities

You'll provide research and analysis across one or more functional areas, interpret Q&RM policies, and determine responses to standard and non-standard situations. Applying your in-depth subject matter knowledge, you'll make recommendations based on EY guidance and professional standards. You'll analyze issues and review the quality of processes. you'll also document how tasks are completed, to satisfy reviews by external regulators.

You will supervise various daily, weekly and monthly processes that are designed to identify potential independence issues. You will be analyzing and documenting your conclusions on various independence cases and may be required to present and explain your findings to leadership and other members of the independence team. As a supervising associate, you will be responsible for supervising other members of the team, which includes: conducting training, managing work load and capacity, and providing guidance and feedback

Skills and attributes for success

  • Ability to consult with Q&RM analysts to review cases that could result in regulatory breaches or violations of policy.
  • Confirm work of those you supervise is complete, accurate and timely.
  • Confidence to recommend improvements and new approaches or output, calling on your Q&RM experience and applying existing Q&RM processes
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a professional manner
  • Ability to think critically about complex issues and recommend solutions that meet regulatory and policy standards.



To qualify for the role you must have

  • Project management skills
  • Problem solving ability
  • Ability to supervise others
  • Ability to deliver tough messages to executive leaders within the firm
  • Strong research and communications skills
  • Adept at handling multiple tasks concurrently
  • Good working knowledge of computers and common software packages
  • Skilled at judging when to escalate issues to management
  • Competent at making decisions independently
  • 5-7 plus years related experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience



Ideally, you'll have

  • Experience supervising professionals in an environment with competing priorities.
  • The ability to understand and apply the Independence rules and policies of EY and the regulator. Learn about other Q&RM areas outside your own area
  • The background and experience to Independently answer complex, non-routine questions from clients and liaise between the clients and other members of Independence and Q&RM
