Reporting to the Director, Engineering Operations the Facilities Specialist will ensure maintenance programs are aligned with company standards, follow applicable internal and external regulatory standards, and that the site's assets and systems perform optimally and per end user requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain maintenance strategies, practices, and processes to ensure maximum performance of our assets and to meet the needs of our business at optimized life-cycle costs.
- Establish, sustain, and demonstrate effective partnerships with network counterparts to share best practices and influence the design and implementation of our network maintenance management policies, standards, and processes.
- Participate in strategy discussions and drive decisions and actions to ensure that our maintenance programs complement and enable our site, network, and business strategies.
- Initiate and coordinate quality improvement, efficiency improvement, budget analysis, and cost reduction programs relative to the management of our assets.
- Plan and schedule all work for the Maintenance Project, Maintenance Planning, and Facilities Maintenance Teams to ensure that all support services are maintained, efficiencies are realized, and overall execution effectiveness is increased.
- Strong ability with CMMS administration including; asset data entry, parts data entry, work order creation and scheduling, records review and approval.
- Understanding of CMMS operations including; work order completion, vendor document attachment, work order review and approval and schedule adjustments.
- Provide Facility support and engagement on engineering/technology projects, brokering and coordinating Facility representation on project teams, ensuring close teamwork and communication between project teams and Facilities, assuring timely flow of documentation and master data, and facilitating operational readiness.
- Interact with client groups, service providers, existing maintenance management, functions to leverage and optimize maintenance support resources, programs, and practices.
- Provide leadership and coordination of maintenance operations, systems, procedures and documentation development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good knowledge of Utility and Facility equipment such as HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, vacuum, compressed air and electrical. Full knowledge of all aspects of mechanical maintenance required for these systems.
- Read mechanical and electrical schematics and piping diagrams P&IDs.
- Proven understanding of regulations that apply to a regulated facility management environment (CAP/CLIA, ISO, FDA).
- Applicable knowledge of contract administration and operations.
- Have a strong working background with CMMS and CCMS systems. Experience with Blue Mountain RAM preferred.
- Solid understanding of maintenance as they relate to facility operations and documentation.
- AAS in engineering, facilities management, science, or business management preferred or 5 plus years of experience in the planning and scheduling of maintenance work in a GMP environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Use basic hand tools.
- Use precision measuring instruments.
- Read electrical/electronic schematics.
- Understanding of Reliability based maintenance.
- Able to read, write and use drawings, mathematics, handbook formulas.
- Able to work with Siemens BAS.
- Ability to configure some BAS parameters.
- Read mechanical schematics and piping diagrams
- Able to work in a lab environment.
- Candidate must possess digital literacy, be detail oriented and be able to complete any required documentation in a timely manner.
- Have ability to communicate both orally and written in a clear & concise manner.
- Will have the ability to prioritize and schedule, and lead all aspects of work performed by Facility Technicians and contractors. Insures good documentation practices and that training requirements are met.
