TheGrio is strongly building its editorial staff. It is an investment in the business's core competencies. These jobs will primarily be based in NY and Atlanta. Some of the positions will be opportunities to work from other cities or fully remote. JOB OVERVIEW

TheGrio is looking to hire an exceptional Events Booker, Logistics and Audience Coordinator to build and support our burgeoning virtual, hybrid and in-person events portfolio. Events will include annual festivals, award shows, concerts and monthly large-scale virtual, hybrid and in-person events. This candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is flexible enough to handle multiple and varied workloads, provide outstanding customer service, and be a positive support to the Events department. They should be able to meet deadlines, work well under pressure, have strong attention to detail, and be a consummate professional. This job is located in Atlanta, GA.

Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the Events Director in all aspects of coordinating and executing TheGrio's virtual, hybrid and in-person events.
  • Build relationships, sources and a vast network of potential headline guests who will be audience draws; researches and schedules compelling guests for a broad slate of editorial and cultural events.
  • Assists in developing comprehensive audience outreach lists.
  • Manages event websites and ticketing systems.
  • Collaborates with design, marketing and communications teams to create assets throughout the planning process.
  • Works closely with tech support to execute all event format requirements.
  • Manages the production timelines and the logistics with deliverables of all events whether virtual, hybrid or in-person.
  • Acts as the main point of contact for all event vendors and contractors.
  • Proactively anticipates and troubleshoots emerging complications in advance and on the day of each event.
  • Creates timelines, designs floor plans, fulfills riders for artist hospitality for hybrid or in-person events.
  • Creates and supervises run of events alongside the Events Director.
  • Schedules, organizes and supports rehearsals.
  • During in-person events manages and confirms individual and group audience tickets; coordinates audience seating; oversees audience PA's and manages their responsibilities.
  • Tracks audience behaviors for future virtual, hybrid and in-person events.



Education/Requirements:

  • Knowledge and awareness of Black American culture.
  • Fluent in virtual, hybrid and in-person event logistics management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects at a given time.
  • Work independently, be proactive, and take initiative.
  • 1-2 years experience with event management, public relations, communications, and/or marketing.
  • Requires strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
