Role Purpose

Accurately calculates E/M codes, CPT procedures, infusions, hydrations and injections and enter charges for each patient in the emergency department. Monitors patient charge entry process following the specified BJC ED guidelines

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of HMED must be maintained. Identifies missing documentation and/or orders. Notifies supervisor of missing documentation for staff education.
• Maintains incomplete board during billing and charging process. Reviews and charges each chart.
• Accurately calculates the appropriate E/M level fee and all documented procedures before charging.
• Performs Other Responsibilities as Assigned
