Shield AI’s mission is to protect service members and civilians with artificially intelligent systems. Shield AI develops artificial intelligence for national security and defense applications. Currently our team has three primary product lines: 

Avatar is containerized missionware—a single software-defined hardware-enabled AI backbone used to construct specific use-case autonomy substantiations with extensibility to multiple platforms, use-cases, and behaviors such as on-platform autonomy (sensor enhancement, GPS-denied maneuver), autonomous mission execution (tactical reasoning and behaviors), and teaming (manned-unmanned teaming networked collaborative autonomy). 

Nova is the leading AI-powered aerial robot capable of both outdoor and autonomous indoor, self-directed flight. Creating unprecedented visibility, Nova operates independently in complex and contested environments, leveraging AI to determine what it should do, when it should do it and how it should complete the task. 

V-BAT is a long-endurance Group 3 Vertical Takeoff and Landing (VTOL) UAS perfectly suited for land-based and maritime operations. It combines the latest payload technology, an open architecture framework for mission specific modularity, and is designed explicitly for runway and equipment independent launch and recovery in austere environments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, and 15+ years of sales or operational experience with the DoD 
• Thorough understanding and working knowledge of the military operations, acquisition system, and contracting processes to enable achieving company growth targets 
• Strong understanding of applied technologies for crewed and uncrewed aircraft systems – specifically 4th, 5th, and next-gen platforms and mission systems 
• Experience working with OSD Secretariats, Service Headquarters, COCOMs, DoD Labs, and OEMs. 
• Expert knowledge and experience with requirements generation, budget cycles, and unique processes across the variety of DoD Services, Agencies, and OEMs. 
• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, frequently and without restriction, including customer sites (50%) 

Preferred Qualifications:

• MBA or related Master’s degree in a related field, and 15+ years of leadership and/or operational experience within the DoD 
• Demonstrated understanding of Air Force and Naval Aviation operational scenarios and systems 
• Strong research and analysis skills 
• Active DoD TS/SCI (SAR eligible) security clearance 

What you will do:

• Position Shield AI for prime contractor opportunities in current and emerging autonomy efforts for USAF and USN crewed, uncrewed, and air effects programs.
• Engage senior DoD and OEM leadership as the trusted advisor for advanced aircraft autonomy. 
• Inform the DoD requirements and funding processes to field advanced autonomy capabilities for USAF and USN aircraft. 
• Attend major events, tradeshows, and strategic engagements to create opportunities for the Capture team. 
• Develop strategies and work cross-functionally to deliver advanced autonomy solutions for USAF and USN aircraft. 
• This position is unique in that it involves numerous Special Access programs, both acknowledged and unacknowledged. The position requires the ability to operate and manage SAI equities in this unique environment.
