Job Description
What you get to do in this role:
As a QE Director for the IT Operations Management Business Unit, you will be a key member of the team dirving quality of our products, services and applications to the next level. You will work within our agile software development process and have a direct impact on the products and applications we build that are directly consumed by ServiceNow customers, partners and internal engineering teams within our company.
The ideal candidate for this position is a someone with a strong background in quality assurance with a proven track record in leading teams to success. The candidate must have a passion for establishing organizational structure that will support their teams in developing quality assurance tooling, instance management processes while also providing strategic support for various quality assurance initiatives. The candidate will also have a background in compliance and auditing, ensuring all standards of quality are met for all ServiceNow products. You will work in a fast-paced, innovative environment that allows direct influence on the organization.
In this role you will manage team members who maintain testing instances, develop tooling specific for the quality engineering organization, develop processes that help support teams ensure all compliance and audit requirements are met, and you will bring forth new strategies that focus on bringing excellent quality to the ServiceNow product offering.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you have:
- Strong ability to establish organizational structure to ensure teams are successfully contributing to the organizational goals
- Strong ability to plan and strategize on roadmaps for the Quality Engineering Organization
- Strong ability to establish structure, processes, and procedures that will support highest quality standards for the ServiceNow Products
- Strong ability in executive communication and presentation skills
- Familiarity with Quality Engineering Instance Management
- Creates an environment that encourages and enables others to build solid solutions that role up to the organization’s goals
- 10+ years of experience as a leader in Quality Engineering/Assurance
- Solid understanding and experience with agile software development methodologies
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for learning new technologies
- BS/MS Degree in Computer Science, or MBA with solid experience of leading Quality Assurance teams to success
Desired skills:
- Experience on the ServiceNow Platform
- Experience managing various instances required for testing
- Experience building customized tools for a Quality Engineering organization
- Experience with Performance, Scalability, and/or Reliability testing.
- Experience with CMDB, IT Operations Management, Store App, and external integrations such as Google, AWS, Azure, and IBM Cloud services, a plus!
- Experience working on a SaaS, PaaS, or Cloud Infrastructure product/solution
- Experience in ensuring test plans and other testing artifacts meets the needs of compliance and audits
- Experience in getting buy-in on new processes to support the organization
- Experience in rolling out new standards and processes, including communication of those efforts
- Experience in working with global teams, test automation, and budgets.
