The Opportunity

Ally Lending partners with merchants, resellers, lending platforms and other third parties (Providers) to offer consumer loans for healthcare and for home renovation and repair projects. This role will lead efforts to identify, measure, report, manage and remediate risks stemming from Providers and their interaction with Ally's consumer lending programs.

The Work Itself

  • Drive robust risk management processes for active Providers, including reporting, routines, remediation playbook and remediation communications / actions.
  • Measure and report on Provider Risk across all relevant risk stripes. Develop reporting for consumption by both Ally leadership and by Providers.
  • Enhance and maintain Provider Program Guidelines to define requirements that active merchants must follow to remain in good standing. Identify and address Provider exceptions to Program Guidelines.
  • Partner closely with other Lending teams to manage merchant risk, including Sales, credit risk, Operations, Finance, and product.
  • Build /enhance periodic risk review process for parties that exhibit significant risk due to size or type of activity. Reviews should include significant focus on compliance risk stemming from Provider interactions with consumers.
  • Hire, lead and develop a team of analysts and managers. Define team roles, manage capacity and performance to ensure necessary work is completed and deadlines are met.
  • Ensure Provider risk processes are well documented and understood.
  • Leverage technical knowledge and experience to solve complex problems in support of Risk objectives
  • Ensure consistent application of risk standards, and appropriate balance between risk-management and efficient execution of business development processes.
  • Support other risk projects, initiatives, programs, and analysis, as required by business needs.



The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business or related field. MBA or advance degree is ideal.
  • Experience in managing dealer risk or merchant risk is ideal.
  • 7-12 years relevant experience in the financial services industry; including background in risk management, audit, or operations 7 + years of leadership experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement and manage risk management programs.
  • Working knowledge of risk management components (e.g., policy/procedures, governance, reporting, self-assessments, loss event capture) in a regulated environment (e.g., FDIC, FFIEC guidelines). Working knowledg of Consumer Lending Regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with multiple levels of management.
  • Strong analytical, documentation and organization skills including orientation to details.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide advice/direction in primary areas of expertise.
  • Ability to leverage technical expertise and relationships to contribute to strategy and drive business results.
  • Technical knowledge, project management, and ability to influence others.
