As the Chief Technology Officer within PNC's Enterprise Technology & Security organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, reporting to the Head of Enterprise Technology & Security.
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for leading the implementation of PNC’s infrastructure, technology operations, and IT service management, setting the roadmap and strategy for large scale growth across information technology with innovative technology solutions which will drive the bank’s competitive edge.
Provide strategic plans and progress to executive leaders. Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers and internal partners and lead IT culture within the CTO function and across the broader business, aligning the IT strategy with the operating plan for the bank. Formulate and control a large budget, taking actions to overcome adverse variations and/or trends. Identify potential business risks when budgets are not available or restricted and manage such issues accordingly.
Knowledge and Experience:
• Experience leading a complex, best in class CTO function (infrastructure technology operations, and IT service management)
• Extensive experience driving integration from a technology, people and process perspective
• A comprehensive, up-to-date understanding of the wider financial services industry, IT industry, regulatory changes and pertinent economic and political factors which may impact the group’s business and overall aims.
• Evidence of successfully implementing firm-wide strategy across all divisions and functions of a complex and growing organization
• Proven dynamic leader of a large technology function, preferably within a financial services organization through substantial periods of organic and inorganic growth
• Adapting to regulatory policy and adhering to new policies and standards
• Attract, build and lead above average technology teams
• Successfully navigate through a complex organization and handle conflicting priorities and goals

Job Description
- Directs the strategic design, acquisition, management, and implementation of an enterprise-wide technology infrastructure.
- Develops organizational technology vision and IT principles and standards; leads the organization in the implementation of a multi-tiered, multi-platform technology infrastructure, ensuring that the IT needs of the business are met.
- Directs the activities necessary to keep the technology infrastructure running seamlessly, efficiently, and effectively while ensuring compliance with established standards and policies.
- Plays a leading role in defining the continuing evolution of the organization's IT infrastructure strategy in order to meet the changing business needs of the enterprise.
- Oversees the enterprise-wide definition, establishment, and maintenance of data, network, and system security architecture as well as their infrastructure, applications, and processes.

Work Experience
Roles at this level typically require a Masters or PhD and potentially certifications in specific job-related areas. Significant industry-relevant and management experience (10+ years) is typically required. 15+ years typically required in lieu of a graduate degree. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
