The Syndicated Loan Closing Department provides administrative and operational syndicated loan closing support across a wide range of clients and products, mainly Debt Capital Markets aligned with Term Loan B's/Corporate Institutional debt, Corporate Real Estate, and Asset Based Lending deal structures where Truist Bank is Administrative Agent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
  • Collection of required documents for deal closings
    • Including:
      • Amendments
      • Refinancing
      • Agency Assumption
      • Assignments pertaining to transfers from bilateral to syndicated status
  • Review of attorney prepared loan documents ensuring the bank can meet all operating requirements prior to closing
  • Attending deal closing calls and ability to speak to any operational issues within documentation
  • Request for CUSIP
  • Input new or amended deal information into Loan IQ
    • Including:
      • Creation of deal summary sheet for handoff to servicing team
      • Input of doc tracking information
      • Set up of agency site on SyndTrak
  • Movement of cash on day of closing
  • Reconciliation of outstanding cash related to closing
  • Participation in post-closing call handoff with client, deal team, PM and servicing contact.
  • Holds post-close meeting with servicing team for operational hand-off
  • Provides ongoing closing support after loan is booked
  • Provide back up support to servicing team when needed

Additional duties include:
  • Departmental or other Truist needs
  • Updating policy/procedure
  • Preparing data for audit requests

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS/BA College Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2-4 years in a Syndicated Loan Operations role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced, time-sensitive, work environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to function independently as a technical expert
  • Fully knowledgeable of products and businesses
  • 3-5 year's experience in assigned product/functional area
  • Ability to extract and apply principles from legal documentation
  • Knowledge of operational, administrative and accounting requirements for loan servicing
  • Capable of identifying potential issues and risks and formulate mitigating solutions
  • Extremely detailed oriented with a proven track record for accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting with various stakeholders including Clients, senior management and outside counsel
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Team-oriented work ethic that includes willingness to help others
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products; experience with Loan IQ a plus
