Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Business Group Operations Partner supports the Business Group and Practice leaders and their teams by acting as COO/Controller to the Business Group Leader with a focus on increasing performance and efficiency, managing risk and enabling practice growth.
Responsibilities of a Business Group Operations Partner span many functions but are focused in the following two primary areas of Operational and Analytical Support and Employee Engagement and Optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Handle of the Business Groups operations, strategy implementation and administration
- Serves as project manager for all practice-related special projects and serves as the liaison with People/Finance/Legal functions
- Review employee utilization based on skills, previous experience, availability, or project budget, to meet business and project demands while maintaining a high-level of customer service and maximizing resources (over/under utilization)
- Manage budget effectively while maintaining a strong focus on cost and spend management
- Effectively forecast to ensure resources have enough capacity to deliver upcoming projects
- Assist Finance with the business group's annual budget processes, inter-year forecasting processes, month end close, time reporting and expenses
- Create an environment of service for Ankura employees, anticipate needs and provide support to allow senior professionals to be more efficient and effective
- Strategic planning - manage the strategic planning process and make sure it is well connected with our corporate process
- Operations management - facilitate management reporting and planning to keep focused on operational metrics and lead our engine team in Nashville
- Recruitment and on-boarding - serve as focal point for recruiting team and manage the on-boarding and off-boarding processes
Basic Qualifications, Skills & Mindset
- Bachelor's degree in Business related field
- Minimum 6-8 years' of relevant prior experience in a professional services environment
- Highly proficient in technology, especially Microsoft Office resources (e.g. Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) and applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Critical thinking skills and initiative to proactively address issues, identify and solve problems
- Professional presence and consistently exhibits high levels of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality
- Proven ability to establish, build and maintain relationships with peers, client service delivery professionals and leadership
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an attention to detail
