Associate Manager, Line & Price
Job Description
Nielsen BASES works with clients at all stages of new product development, from early-stage ideation to optimizing communication and positioning, package design, predicting and growing in-market sales and crafting holistic marketing support plans through the launch. The Line & Price Specialty team leverages primary market research and choice based models (Discrete Choice, Conjoint) to consult clients on innovation, portfolio assortment, pricing and price pack architecture decisions.
The Associate Manager is the day to day project lead for all aligned client engagements. The Associate Manager holds responsibility for overseeing an Analyst or Senior Analyst on all project aspects including inputs managements, program quality assurance, analytics and reporting. Team members will be trained on all aspects of choice modeling and consulting, but experience in market research, choice based models, product assortment and pricing or Revenue Growth Management is preferred. Top performers are highly skilled at managing multiple projects at once, are proactive coaches and mentors to more junior team members, and have an innate curiosity to explore and ask why.
Responsibilities
Oversees Analyst on All End-to-End Project Tasks
Guides collection and organization of critical inputs for projects including leveraging Nielsen Sales data to create recommended SKU lists, test variation such as price, test images and survey documents
Provides quality assurance check for all Analyst work
Supports Analysts on analytical runs from models, presenting suggestions and recommendations on model adjustments
Customizing and enhances reports and client deliverables and leads client results presentations
Deliver best in class insights and help our clients achieve better business outcomes
Provides recommendations on inputs and study design for efficient execution
Tailors reports and analysis to clearly answer client business questions
Adds additional insights to analysis with information beyond the data
Team Contributions
Engages in ad hoc task force and team initiatives
Provides clear and actionable feedback on team processes and tools
Actively coaches and mentors Analysts and Senior Analyst, setting clear expectations and providing timely feedback when expectations are missed, met, and exceeded to improve overall performance
Direct management of one to three Analysts or Senior Analysts once fully onboarded and effective in the role

You are a proven project manager who can balance multiple projects with timeline pressure, client needs and overall team management. After official onboarding you are able to look beyond the purely executional tasks, to provide additional insight from your own experience and knowledge. You are energized by a challenge, delivering high profile projects with multiple, high impact business implications. You are able to act as a leader to the Analyst group, setting strong examples of operational excellence and growing those associates in their role and career.
Qualifications
2-4 years of relevant experience in marketing, research, consulting or revenue management field
Ability to manage several ongoing client engagements and internal initiatives at the same time
Excellent oral/written communication, organizational, project management, and customer service skills
High-level attention to detail
