About the role

We are looking for an Operations Technology Specialist to support the rollout of our operational software platform across client environments in the defence and security sector across Australia and New Zealand.

Reporting to the National Lead, this role is responsible for delivering deployments end to end, including planning, coordination, on site rollout, training, and post go live support. The platform is used daily by operational teams, so reliability, usability, and strong user adoption are critical.

Our platform is setting a new standard for how operational teams manage, track, and report activity in real time.

You will work closely with business managers and their clients, acting as the central point of coordination during implementation. You will also collaborate with internal teams and remote support to ensure successful delivery, while capturing feedback to help shape ongoing product improvements.
 

This is a 12-month contract role aligned to a major rollout phase, with potential to extend based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver end to end deployment of the platform across multiple client sites
  • Plan and coordinate rollout activities across Australia and New Zealand

  • Work closely with business managers and their clients during implementation

  • Act as the primary point of contact during deployment and go live

  • Configure and set up app and web based environments

  • Deliver on site and remote support during deployment phases

  • Provide clear, practical training to end users and supervisors

  • Coordinate with remote support teams to manage and resolve issues

  • Identify risks, blockers, and dependencies and manage them proactively

  • Gather structured client and user feedback and identify improvement opportunities

  • Work with product and development teams to translate feedback into improvements

  • Continuously refine rollout, training, and support processes

Requirements

  • Experience delivering software deployments or system rollouts

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with business managers and clients

  • Ability to work directly with operational, non-technical users

  • Strong organisational and coordination capability

  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Comfort working with technical systems, including basic configuration and integrations

  • Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities simultaneously

  • Willingness to travel across Australia and New Zealand

  • Ability to obtain and maintain relevant security clearance

Nice to Have

  • Experience in defence, security, or operational environments

  • Experience in implementation, onboarding, or project delivery roles

  • Exposure to or experience in project management, including planning and coordinating deployments

  • Basic scripting experience (e.g. Python or similar) for automation or configuration tasks

  • Interest in or exposure to AI tools and technologies, particularly in operational or workflow contexts

  • Exposure to product feedback loops or continuous improvement processes

Qualifications / Certifications

  • Relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications will be considered

  • Qualification or training in Information Technology, Systems, or a related field (desirable)

  • Exposure to project management methodologies or certification (desirable)
