Blissway is a startup that simplifies toll collection and dramatically improves highway safety. We are multiple startups in one: Deep Tech, AI/ML, Hardware, SaaS, and IoT. For the past five years, we have built a nearly insurmountable technological lead in tolling—an under-the-radar industry that is bigger than football. While our competitors have thousands of employees, we operate with a lean but growing team of less than 30. We’ve stayed under the radar, but our impact is visible on the massive Interstate Highway System connecting every major US metro (except Juneau, AK—sorry, Juneau).
You are a good fit if...You love the grind: You take ownership and put in the time to meet deadlines. Our recent team survey showed an average of 50 hours/week, with occasional 70+ hour bursts for major releases.
You code really well: We mostly use Python and TypeScript, but we don’t care what you’re most proficient in today—as long as you learn fast.
You are detail obsessed: You have experience writing code that stands up to the unpredictability of the physical world, where the small details are the difference between success and failure.
You are "Fluid": We are a lean team. If you only want to work on a "niche thing" or are uncomfortable helping other teams when they need a boost, this isn't the place for you. We expect you to figure out what you need to get stuff done.
Our Technical Ecosystem (SEO for the curious): While we value problem-solving over specific syntax, you’ll likely spend your time working with:
Languages: Python, TypeScript, C++, SQL.
Frameworks and Tools: NestJS, Node.js, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, React, Sentry.
Infrastructure: AWS, Docker, Linux, IoT Edge Devices.
Specialties: Computer Vision (OpenCV), ML Integration, Payment Processing.
As an Operations Technician at Blissway, you are critical throughout the operations of our warehouse, production, and project installations. Using a combination of technical and organizational skills, you will have the opportunity to:
Lead production of our WAL-Es, their electronic assemblies, and their testing.
Develop and own processes throughout the warehouse and assembly line, including organization of inventory and tools.
Develop methods to improve our system testing and quality assurance.
Coordinate work requests and maintenance with external contractors and customers.
Lead project installation and field maintenance teams throughout the nation.
Are smart, hard working, and care about the work that you do. You like a challenge.
Have an incredible eye for detail and organization. From electronic assembly to inventory management, the details will make or break the project.
Can navigate a computer extremely well. You’ll be expected to work through different software programs and develop your own spreadsheets and tools.
Take ownership of projects and put in the necessary time to meet deadlines. A recent company survey showed that the team is averaging 50 hours to get their tasks done, with this role specifically requiring overnight shifts and support.
Excel at solving hard problems and take full ownership. We expect you to figure out what you need to get stuff done.
Flexible to help all areas of the company when other teams need a boost. Usually this is a great opportunity to learn and get exposure to new things. If you are uncomfortable with the idea of fluid responsibilities, this will not be a good fit.

The Essentials (Health & Wealth)
Personalized Health Coverage (ICHRA): We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all healthcare. We provide a monthly allowance ($800/employee + up to $1,200 for dependents) so you can choose the individual plan that actually fits your life.
Investing in Your Future: 401(k) matching up to 4% —we’re helping you build long-term wealth while you build Blissway.
Peace of Mind: Company-sponsored life insurance (2x your salary) because we’ve got your back, and your family’s too.
Equity: Competitive equity package with 24-month exercise window. We go beyond offering paper money—every year, we facilitate a tender process that gives you the opportunity to sell your vested shares at the same valuation as our investors.
Rest & Recharge 🌴
High-Trust Time Off: 4 weeks of untracked PTO. We don't micromanage your calendar; we focus on your impact. Take the time you need to stay sharp and inspired.
Family First: 12 weeks of paid parental leave for birth and adoptive parents. We want you present for the moments that matter most.
The Deep Breath (Sabbatical): Every 5 years, take 12 weeks of fully paid leave. Go travel, write a book, or master a new hobby—then come back and tell us all about it.
Fuel & Community 😀
The Blissway Kitchen: Whether it’s breakfast to start your day or our daily group lunches, we keep the team fueled.
Snacks Autonomy: Our kitchen is fully stocked and we mean it—if we’re missing your favorite fuel, just add it to the request list.
The "BlissTrip": An annual 3–4 day getaway for the team and significant others.
Monthly Beats: Game nights, escape rooms, and dinners to celebrate the grit we put in.
Continuous Learning: Tuition reimbursement for courses, programs, and conferences that sharpen your craft.
