Your Opportunity

Across Australia, safe and secure housing is more than a service, it’s the foundation for stability, dignity and opportunity.

At Mission Australia Housing, this role is central to ensuring our housing services operate effectively, consistently and in line with regulatory, contractual and internal performance requirements. As the Operations Performance, Compliance and Insights Manager, you will bring clarity to complexity by translating compliance obligations, externally and internally driven operational KPIs, data quality expectations and business performance frameworks into practical, consistent approaches that support teams across the housing operations portfolio to deliver high-quality services to residents and communities.

Working collaboratively with Housing Operations, Housing Growth and enabling teams, you will translate complex legislative, regulatory, contractual, performance and data requirements into practical processes and clear performance insights. By strengthening compliance, improving data quality, embedding business performance and data quality frameworks, and supporting evidence-informed decision-making, you will help ensure our housing portfolio delivers safe, sustainable and high-quality outcomes for the people and communities we serve.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Coordinate national operational performance reporting against externally driven contractual and regulatory KPIs, as well as internally defined service, quality and improvement indicators
  • Ensure reporting is accurate, timely, consistent and supported by strong data quality standards, governance and assurance processes
  • Translate performance data into clear insights that highlight trends, risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Provide performance narratives and reporting to senior leadership, executive and board-level forums
  • Oversee operational compliance with regulatory, contractual and internal requirements across the housing portfolio
  • Embed compliance obligations, KPI requirements and performance expectations into operational systems, processes and frontline practice
  • Establish, maintain and embed business performance, data quality and compliance frameworks, tools and guidance for consistent implementation
  • Lead audit and assurance activities, ensuring findings are translated into clear and actionable improvements
  • Drive data quality, governance and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen KPI delivery, compliance outcomes, reporting confidence and operational decision-making

Requirements for Success

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, data, information management, compliance, governance, law or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a regulated, contract-funded service environment, ideally within social or community housing
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory, contractual, KPI, performance and data quality requirements into clear and practical operational guidance
  • Proven experience overseeing operational performance reporting, compliance, assurance, governance or KPI reporting functions in a complex service environment
  • Strong capability to embed business performance, data quality, reporting, compliance or assurance frameworks into operational practice across systems and teams
  • Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams
  • Well-developed analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify risks and improvement opportunities
  • Experience developing, governing and continuously improving frameworks, processes or assurance approaches that support data integrity, KPI delivery and compliance outcomes
  • Highly effective communication skills, with experience presenting insights to senior leaders
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive cross-functional relationships and balance operational needs with compliance expectations

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
