Our client, who is in the logistics and freight forwarding industry, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of the company’s clearing and forwarding operations. The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring seamless cargo movement, optimising operational processes, driving cost efficiency, and maintaining compliance with customs and transport regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, strategic planning, and people management skills, with a proven ability to deliver timely and high-quality service to clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and client satisfaction.

  • Oversee daily clearing and forwarding activities, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with customs and port procedures.

  • Coordinate with logistics, export, and transit departments to streamline processes and resolve operational challenges.

  • Supervise and support departmental heads and operational teams, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

  • Maintain close communication with clients and key stakeholders to address inquiries, resolve issues, and improve service delivery.

  • Monitor financial transactions related to operations, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and budget adherence.

  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and safety requirements across operational functions.

  • Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports to management.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational workflows and reduce turnaround times.

  • Lead, train, and mentor staff to ensure high performance, motivation, and professional growth.



Requirements
  • Degree in Clearing and Forwarding, Shipping Management, Logistics, or a related field.

  • 5–7 years of experience in freight forwarding operations, including supervisory or managerial experience.

  • Strong knowledge of customs procedures, TRA regulations, port systems, and shipping line operations.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications; familiarity with operational software such as SAP is an advantage.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

  • Proven leadership ability with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • High attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and teams.

  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a focus on operational excellence.

  • Adaptable, resourceful, and capable of leading in a fast-paced environment.

  • Committed to continuous improvement and client satisfaction.
