The JADA Group of Companies invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Operations Manager – Concrete, Asphalt, Sand and Quarry Division.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Operational Leadership & Oversight
- Lead daily operations across all divisions: asphalt plant, concrete, quarrying/aggregate production, and precast concrete manufacturing.
- Ensure consistent and uninterrupted production and supply of materials to meet construction and delivery schedules.
- Implement schedules, maintenance routines, and production plans to meet changing business demands.
- Precast Division Development & Execution
Oversee the full operational rollout of the precast concrete plant, including:
- Site preparation.
- Machinery procurement and installation.
- Recruitment, onboarding, and training of production personnel.
- Establishment of production flows and QA protocols specific to precast operations.
- Resource & Asset Optimization
- Maximize efficient use of heavy-duty equipment, mobile plants, crushing equipment, mixers, batching plants, loaders, trucks, and raw materials.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure timely servicing, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend asset life.
- Coordinate effectively to ensure consistent material availability.
- Financial & Budgetary Oversight
- Assist in developing annual operating budgets and capital expenditure plans.
- Monitor and control operating costs and implement cost-reduction initiatives where feasible.
- Work closely with the General Manager to approve purchase requests for operational needs, and monitor fuel, material, and maintenance expenditures.
- Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure that all products meet or exceed project specifications and standards.
- Work closely with Quality Control to monitor test results, material composition, and compliance.
- Enforce environmental, health, and safety policies in line with statutory regulations and company standards.
- Team Leadership & Human Resource Development
- Provide strong leadership to supervisors, operators, and production staff across all business units.
- Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and mentoring of supervisory personnel.
- Identify skill gaps and work with HR to deliver technical training and certification programs.
- Champion succession planning and the development of high-potential team members.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and analyze KPIs including:
- Daily/weekly cubic meter output.
- Equipment downtime and maintenance frequency.
- Labour productivity and material usage rates. - Prepare and present monthly operational performance reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
- Stakeholder Communication & Coordination
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure seamless execution of operations.
- Address client inquiries or concerns related to material delivery, production timelines, or product quality.
- Collaborate with project managers to prioritize production output based on project timelines and contractual obligations.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive operations management experience within the construction materials industry (asphalt, concrete, aggregates, or precast).
- Comprehensive knowledge of aggregate processing, concrete batching, asphalt production, and precast concrete manufacturing.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a proven track record of managing multi-site operations and leading cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and production optimization tools.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
- Deep understanding of production workflows, equipment operation, and plant performance metrics.
- Proven ability to design and execute operational strategies that enhance production efficiency, control costs, and improve profitability.
- Extensive knowledge of asphalt and concrete production, quarry operations, and precast concrete manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, and effectively translate them into actionable production plans.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and risk management protocols within industrial and construction environments.
- Strong leadership and business acumen, with a proven ability to mentor, develop, and retain skilled trades and supervisory staff.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced in using production-related software and systems.
