We’re looking for an Operations Manager to join our Contracting team in Whangārei. You’ll be the organiser and connector in the team – making sure people, plant, materials, information and other resources are in the right place at the right time.

You’ll be a key point of contact for internal and external customers and stakeholders, resourcing up projects with the right people and gear, helping to create a professional, positive experience for everyone we deal with. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills, take on responsibility and be recognised for the good work you do.
Ngā kawenga tūranga | Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Contracting Divisional Manager Coordinate day-to-day operations across field staff, plant, materials, information and other assets
Support safe delivery of work, following all Fulton Hogan safety, environmental and quality processes
Monitor and maintain data and systems, including reporting and analysis
Provide technical and operational oversight, with a practical, solutions-focused approach
Manage people-related tasks such as timesheets, time management, performance conversations and training requirements
Oversee plant and asset utilisation, helping to optimise repairs, maintenance and usage
Look for better and safer ways to work, and share ideas with the team

Minimum 5 years civil construction experience, ideally in the infrastructure sector
Administrative and finance experience, ideally in civil construction or a related field
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and other data/reporting tools
Strong organising and planning skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
Technical understanding of civil construction activities
Great people skills and strong leadership capabilities
